Hi, I'm looking to really improve my technique during these last 5 weeks left of summer. I have good amounts of time, on average 5 hours, and I really don't want to waste it doing the wrong stuff. I want to improve as much as possible. I have been doing alternate picking, legato string skipping, etc, but I think I want to try a different approach, if it would help me improve faster.

I've been looking at studying some classical guitar on my electric - they're both guitars, I just wont quite get the correct tone that comes from nylon I guess. Not to mention the thick neck.

I've looked at some classical excercise books, such as Kitharologus: The Path to Virtuosity(Is this a good book?), and others.

Also, studying some classical etudes on gmc.

Is this the right direction to go in?

Thanks for your help.

Hi!
Hi -
My name's Mason. Im 14 years old. I love to surf and play the guitar(obviously).
I've been playing for about 3 months, but I have progressed really quickly due to me having a nice guitar(Ibanez sz320) which I love. I like grunge, classic rock, and metal. My favorite guitarists are Jimmy Page, Satch, and SRV.

See you around!
