Hello there,

So I bought a guitar from a friend just to learn som e stuff. Been playing for a while and usually play Jackson guitars but I got this offer on a cheap deal.

I bought a Washburn WR120 which I know is a beginner guitar and not worth much but thats why I bought it.

I never been good at intonating or such things so this will be a project to learn.

My first project however is to change the pickups.

So I want some suggestions on a humbucker and to single coil pickups for metal type of music, hardcore, death and so on.

I don´t see the point of buying to expensive pickups since the risk is that I will destroy them tongue.gif but ok stuff for the money with good sustain if possible.. I also know that the pickups will be worth more than the guitar but that doesn´t bother me too much.

I would be really glad for some suggestions.

Cheers

Hi,

Yestarday when I was going to tune my guitar on my Pod X3 Live something happened with the button. The foot switch that is.

I can press it down but I don´t hear the sound that the other buttons make, a litle click and the tuner doesn´t start.

I have read that theres something that can brake in the construction of these butons so I tried to open it to have a look. (I have no warranty since it was bought used).

Well the problem is that I can´t get it open. Theres screwes on the front and the back on a row but which other screws should be removed? Should the screws on the silver buttons/footswitches be removed?

Thanks for any help

Hello,

I´ve guess I´ve had a really bad picking technique for years and I´ve tried and ried to improve it.

One thing thats a bit strange is that everyone says you should have the pick at a 90 degree angle, I just can´t do it. Well I can but it feels like my wrist will burst.

I´m just asking you too take a look at this video and mabe come with some advice on how screwed up my picking techuniqe are.

Cheers

Hello!

Been away from the forum for some time. Got tired of the guitar.

Some weeks ago I decided to get serious with the guiar.
I am one of those who have played for several years but learned wrong from the start I guess. Can play a bunch of riffs but sloopy. Christ, I cant even get the bends right.

Well so I thought to myself "I want to be good at guitar". So I´ve been playing 3-4 hours after work and well 6-7 hours at the weekends.

I started playing things slow and the same exercises each day. But well, it only feels like I´m getting worse. I get caught in the b, e strins all the time so I change my pick technique from one day to another not knowing what is right. I don´t know where to begin anymore.

When I get tired of practicing and play some old stuff at higher tempos i can´t play that anymore eather.
Catch 22!!!

What should I do? maybe a teacher would be good to say, practice this thing this way and don´t change it!

It´s getting preety frustrating cause I got the time and the will to do it but it feels like I´m going backwards at the moment.
