Today we are proud to introduce a new jazz licks page - which will give you a new jazz lick every day for more than one month.

These jazz licks can expand your jazz / fusion vocabulary - or just help you break away from your standard pentatonic shapes.
We have even done some deep digging and found a few non-published jazz lessons from old GMC instructors.

Finally I want to remind you that the most influential jazz guitarist ever could only fully use two fingers on his left hand:

YOU CAN DO IT!!

Yes, it shows that what matters is your determination, nothing else. What's even worse is that Django wasn't just a "soft" jazz guitarist - he was a SHREDDER!

Just listen to 1:22 here

I am really looking forward to the Jazz Lick Lick of the Day series! Thanks so much for this!

I have learned about Django & so many other amazing guitarists that I had never heard of, thanks to GMC! The amount of resources available here is just amazing (and most of it is FREE!)

(I apologize for the excessived use of exclamation points that were used (but not harmed) in the making of this post! wink.gif

I am SO EXCITED about this series!! I tend to gravitate towards jazz/funk style and lessons (absolutely LOVE Stephane's lessons!!), which has usually left me in the "minority" since it seems the main focus here is metal. But, GMC doesn't leave anyone or any style out, it just has to cater to the most popular/in-demand styles. So I always appreciate those efforts to keep ALL styles of great lessons coming. Plus, I try to push myself to learn styles (metal) that I'm not really that great at. It's great to learn from any/every style of music, in my opinion.

Anyway....a HUGE thanks to GMC for putting this together!! I love jazz!!

One request/idea for a lesson, or "in the style of" series... Eric Krasno from Soulive!! He's a great, energetic, funky jazz player that may be a nice "bridge" to jazz for many players. Here's a live set....

This is great I add the lick of the day to my practice routine everyday and look forward to them. This is even better to have two licks of the day to learn. Thanks for doing this.

I'm sure I am just missing it but is/will there be an archive for the Jazz Licks? sad.gif The "Lick of the Day" link takes me to the Blues Licks. I am/was still working on the first lick & now I can't seem to find it.

Edit: The next lick of the day is now on the Jazz lick of the day & I'm trying to find the first Jazz Lick of the Day.

We are currently working on adding jazz licks to the archive page as well. I hope we will get it finished today!

Amazing service! Thank you so much! smile.gif

And sorry unsure.gif , I wasn't intending to be pushy or rush the tech team at GMC, I was just wondering if I was missing the link somewhere.

(Obviously, I am enjoying these new licks! biggrin.gif )

I wasn't much into lick of the day feature but I love these new jazz licks! They sound fantastic, the sound is warm and the lick is inspiring. At my skill level I can play it at half speed, and it still sounds awesome. biggrin.gif

Thank you! smile.gif
