Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

My take on the swing advanced lesson. As I stated here before, I find this kind of timing a little obsolete, but I tried to go back to how I used to play before I went on practising modern jazz. Since this seems to be the most advanced jazz lesson by now and I dont really wanna learn heavy metal shredding, I say this again: Come on teachers, make some harder ones in other styles!!! wink.gif (or otherwise I may have to make a student-instructor one, but then I just would end up playing my own boring licks... tongue.gif )

Original lesson can be found HERE.

This is a very good take Staffy. I noticed some things in your technique. You alternate pick when going down but when going up you sweep. That's a bit strange but as long as it sound good then I have no problem with that. The more important thing is the feel for this one. Muris kept it in swing as much as possible but you're much more towards the straight feel. If you know what I mean - needs to be more in triplets. Otherwise everything else is good. I like the tone.

This was a very good jazz playing from you staffy! Maybe I would pay more attention to the emphasis, this is a very important thing in the jazz soloing. The higher notes are more emphase and will give you a triplet feel. But overall I loved this. smile.gif
