I looked at this lesson:
https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/hybrid...g-intermediate/

and i really cant do that last tone well... the instructor explains it like this:

"And to make it sound even more like Eric Johnson, there is an artificial harmonic on the last note, F,

on the B string, 18th fret. Place your right hand index finger where the 30th fret would be on the B string (an octave higher than the 18th fret) and pluck the string with the pick, you should hold it with the thumb and middle finger."

but when i try it i only get a really weak tone.

This is a lesson by the incredible Muris.

Move your index finger looking for that 30th fret, as it is not there you can only calculate where it would be and you might be missing it by a bit.

Also pickups are important here, on certain guitars with certain pickup specially the neck pickup, harmonics sound weak, try the bridge pickup and see if it makes a difference

Good luck

To get that artificial harmonic what you must do is seeing the distance between the freeted note on the second string and the bridge. In the middle of this distance there is a node that give us the one octave up artificial harmonic. Looking for fractions will help us when we run out of freets. Another trick is using a marker (a deletable one) on the top for guiding (I have seeen this in classical guitar contests done by great profesionals.)

That is quite a hard harmonic.

First use your bridge pickup and if you are having reall trouble turn your drive, and treble up a bit.

Second keep trying it until you find out the perfect place to hit the harmonic, then memorise that position in realtions to the pickups.

Third try and make the tap quite short as all the time your finger is on the string once you have hit the harmonic you are muting it.

Hope this helps.

Like other artificial harmonics were probably hard and took practice, so does this too..i also rarely hit these...however when i do occasionally hit them i have found that boosting distortion/drive helps as well as having the bridge pickup on
Good luck

Check out this video on youtube, it helped me when I first started doing pinch harmonics (type of artificial harmonic, aka squealies)
