"The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side." - Hunter Thompson

If you could go back in time, would you do things differently? rolleyes.gif I would. tongue.gif

TWICE AS WISE

This was recorded using my 1949 Gibson ES125 with a Bigsby B11 vibrato tailpiece installed. The strings are D'darrio Chromes flatwound light gauge. The guitar was recorded direct into one channel of my Tascam recorder and was also recorded on another channel using a Behringer B1 LDC microphone. I recorded two guitar parts. The vocal was recorded using the B1 mic. The song was written by Anthony Clark and I got it from the Chris Wilson CD "Love Over Money".

Good piece of music! Thanks for posting smile.gif As for the mentioned quote about the music business...I'm much younger but said to say...already noticed. Unfortunetly I'm not a kind of person who "goes through the window if the doors are closed". I do like to push up myself everywhere. So...I'll probably be poor but happy smile.gif

It's true that Music Business is like that but the good side is that nowadays we are able to use Internet and social networks to promote ourselves and to manage our careers by our own. I always recommend this site and book:

Good track indeed. cool.gif

It is a shame that the industry has taken advantage of so many musicians. But as Gab mentions, it is more possible to promote and manage your own music these days.

You and Gab are so right, there is opportunity there.

I'm certainly not sorry I pursued music as a career. I never made much money but I did what I love, made a lot of music and still continue to make music. The old motto still holds, "Art for Art's sake." If one plays music as a path to wealth one is on the wrong path. Money is not the answer, love is the answer to happiness in life.
