Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Great choice of lesson - this one will add so much cool spice to you playing!

There are some things for you to work on here:

* Muting: the melody is hard to hear because you have unwanted open strings ringing. Your left and right hand need to work together to make sure unwanted strings are not ringing, especially important with high gan sounds - which leads us to...

* your sound: is much more high gain than Laszlo's - which makes it noisier and not dynamics-friendly. These two things have a negative impact on the overall musicality of the take

* timing: though it's a bit hard to hear - I suspect your whammy work is not really consistent timing wise, with Laszlo's playing.

Technically I would say you are more than half way there - I think you just rushed it to the REC board. But in order for this to sound musical, you will need to fit all the bits mentioned above together.

Keep up the hard work - you get a 4 from me. I will also raise the lesson difficulty level to 5.

Hi mate,

Kris has marked the three elements that need to be improved here. I would do it in this order:

First, work on your tone, adjust EQ to make it sound with less highs and lower the drive/gain level a bit. Try to make it sound closer to the original lesson. Then, divide the lesson in smaller blocks, practice at slower tempo focusing on making your solo sound clean. Work on your muting techniques. Finally, before increasing tempo, focus on timing, and increase it gradually as soon as you notice that you are able to play the part tight. Once you do it with all the different parts, connect everything and share a new take.

Keep on the hard work!!

Hey there! I guess tehre is a little too much mess in your mix of "space" effects such as reverb and delay.Half of that reverb and delay would definitely be enough and would keep thing clear enough to judge. With this amount of reverb, when you change the intonation of a note, than the tail of the reverb stays slightly behind and make out of tune audiable experince.

These runs around 3/4 of the lesson seems quite undefinied...need more precision in time spacing/assignment.

My general observation is that you can of course keep doing new lesons if you enjoy to do so, but if you think seriously about some visible progress, you need to start the work and the point you usually stop it smile.gif I mean....one lesson but really diggin into it with lots of details ...no rush, no pressure....patience, focus and precission that's the way for you to go now.
