Well that certainly helpes, but a very high dose of common sense about certain things happening on your computer prevents you as much from disasters as well (even if you have anti-virus and the whole bunch)  .

You should give it a try ! Or go for a Mac. But easiest solution atm is probably to scan your PC and see if and what has infected it.
