Feb 21 2013, 05:32 PM	Learning Tone Master Posts: 3.622 Joined: 29-March 08 From: kansas, USA	staying on pitch is most important and you did a great job, in live performances no one is ever perfect. however it does sound like you are singing it with to much air coming thru the nose,now you do need some thru your nose but try to record yourself singing with less and see if you can tell the difference,as well practice singing every note with vibrato( just for practice) because when you sing with vibrato your diaphragm( put your hand on your stomach while doing this and you will be able to feel it, this is where your power will come from) is forced to be used and if you can strengthen that you will achieve more power. As for improvement, I agree with jstcrsn - we need more diaphragm and less nose, especially on the high notes. And i agree that i am singing with to much air coming out of my nose, that was one of the first thing i heard when listening to it. Not really sure how to fix that problem. The reason why i have been working on singing so much is that i am singer for my band and we got two gigs coming up next weekend and it will be my first real gig as a singer so i want to be as prepared as i can be You are at GuitarMasterClass.net Don't miss today's free lick. Indeed, it seems you are a natural twanger - that means you are singing while constricting your aryepiglottic sphyncter - thus producing more nasal sounds. Vocalists such as Layne Staley from Alice in Chains or Axl Rose from GnR are known for this technique. I would suggest you to try and sing more in speech level - that means getting your singing voice to be the same as your speaking voice, both in emission and volume. It will be a bit tricky to discover how to control that sphyncter and only use it at will, but it's achievable. Just practice the material a lot and be confident with your singing, I think you will blow people away.
