Wou Superize!! This is great!! Congrats mate!! smile.gif I like the colour of your voice, it sounds powerful, big, but also warm. Your pitch is perfect most of the time. There are some little tuning issues in the chorus but I'm sure that you will be able to sing this one perfect soon.
Well done!! wink.gif

Not bad, a few pitch issues, but definitely nothing major, I'd look at dynamics too, everything was the same volume and softening your voice in the right places helps to put emotion across

staying on pitch is most important and you did a great job, in live performances no one is ever perfect.
however it does sound like you are singing it with to much air coming thru the nose, now you do need some thru your nose but try to record yourself singing with less and see if you can tell the difference,as well practice singing every note with vibrato( just for practice) because when you sing with vibrato your diaphragm( put your hand on your stomach while doing this and you will be able to feel it, this is where your power will come from) is forced to be used and if you can strengthen that you will achieve more power.
This might sound stupid , but all my coaches told me when singing imagine your voice racing from the pit of your stomach and shooting thru your throat out the top of your head

This is very promising, and very cool to see you working on new abilities.

As for improvement, I agree with jstcrsn - we need more diaphragm and less nose, especially on the high notes.

Oh and your pitch and ability to hold a clean note is way better than mine (haha don't know if that's much of a compliment though)

Thanks for the tips and pointers guys, really appreciate it. And i agree that i am singing with to much air coming out of my nose, that was one of the first thing i heard when listening to it. Not really sure how to fix that problem.

The reason why i have been working on singing so much is that i am singer for my band and we got two gigs coming up next weekend and it will be my first real gig as a singer so i want to be as prepared as i can be

Hey Ize smile.gif Congrats man! I like your singing a lot!

Indeed, it seems you are a natural twanger - that means you are singing while constricting your aryepiglottic sphyncter - thus producing more nasal sounds. Vocalists such as Layne Staley from Alice in Chains or Axl Rose from GnR are known for this technique.

I would suggest you to try and sing more in speech level - that means getting your singing voice to be the same as your speaking voice, both in emission and volume. It will be a bit tricky to discover how to control that sphyncter and only use it at will, but it's achievable. Let me know if you'd like to talk about this some more smile.gif

Thanks for sharing smile.gif
That wasn't too bad mate, good job!

A few misses here and there, but overall it was pretty good.
Keep this up, and practice, and you'll be a great singer in no time smile.gif

For your gigs next week I wouldn't worry too much about the improvement advice given here. Just practice the material a lot and be confident with your singing, I think you will blow people away.

For what it's worth, my answer would be to use more stomach/guts on the high notes, and allow yourself to sing louder on these places. (typically you will see singers back off a little from the microphone when attempting this - to compensate for the increased loudness)

Awesome! As Kris said, I think that you're ready for the first gigs. You just to concentrate on the songs that you're going to play and enjoy it.

Pretty good man! As others have said though. Work on singing from the diaphragm.

Singing from the diaphragm will give you more power as well as more of your own sound.

You should also take some time to watch the ' Zen Of Screaming 1' by Melissa Cross - she explains things about emission and diaphragm - she calls it singing from the dump! It's not about screaming .. yet smile.gif She talks about that in the second DVD, so, check this first one out and you won't regret it for certain!
