GMC Forum _ CHILL OUT _ Went To Court Today

Posted by: Captain Insaino Nov 16 2010, 08:19 PM

Well Im excited, I went to court today for a child coustody case that was set for review today. The judge gave me the dad perminent, coustody of my 3 boys today. So the get to live with me and have visitation with my X. The reason Im so jazzed is that in California the dad almost never gets coustody of the kids..... Its been a fight for a year already, and cost me 10k in lawyer fees, but it is so worth it...

Just thought I would share the good news..

Excellent! As a fellow California native, I know what you mean. It's a shame it takes 10K to be heard in court... but I'm glad you got your verdict! Congratulations!

Congratulations smile.gif You really pulled off a miracle, as the odds in such a case are stacked against you.

i am excited for you and them - and this is a good time a year to have them
I have 7 kids myself and , i know this might sound strange but i don't even like coming home when my family is gone

Glad to hear the good news man, I know courts tend to almost always side with the mother and assume the dad is the negative influence in a lot cases, It just aint right, good to see this is not always case.

Thats great newes! concrats smile.gif
Its a shame that a father has to do so much work to get coustody over their own child...

It must be a big relief for you to end this court case! Congrats man. smile.gif

Congratulations man, I hope everything will be OK! smile.gif

Congratulations bro..
It is a shame the courts in this crazy state make is so difficult for men to prevail in custody battles. I have known quite a few women who have won custody disputes when the ex husband was far and away the better choice for the kids.
The money you expended is meaningless.. besides, you got the gold in the end.
Congrats again..

That is great news.. well apart from having your kids, another positive thing you can take from it is the fact that it must have shone through to the authorities that you're a good person too !

That is a lot of money but as you said, it doesn't even come into it when it's something that matters so much to you. Congrats man ! biggrin.gif

Many congrats! A buddy of mine is going through a divorce right now and I"ve got a vague, vague idea of how rough it can be. I'm glad you made it through.
