I seen one of these at Guitar Center the other day and was pretty impressed by its build quality, I even thought it was an American Fender at first. But once I saw the so called mark of shame, known as "Squier," on the headstock, my arrogance caused me to quickly dismiss it without even giving it a whirl... I gotta stop being such a prick tongue.gif In my defense, the last few Squiers I've played have been complete shit.

The guitar is a Squier Classic Vibe Stratocaster, and apparently its a great guitar, some claim even better than the Mexican made Fenders. The body is made from alder, and word is the pickups are manufactured by none other than Tonerider Pickups under license. For $349, its seems like quite a deal. Anybody try one?

I heard that Squire Classic Vibe Jazz Basses are awesome! There is a youtube clip with comparison between those and basses they are based upon. So, it seems that guitars from that series can be good too.

I'm yet to try out those basses in a store.

There have been 2 issues of these. One was produced in the Fujigen factory in the late 70's early 80's and any of these instruments were far better than their American counterparts of the day! The latter series were produced in Italy, form the same factory as Greco and some other Libel Era makes, these are also awesome instruments. especially for the money!!
