GMC VIDEO CHAT LESSON #70 - ENDURANCE INTENSIVE
Let’s take a break from our Soloing In Context work and focus a bit on sheer speed and endurance. Once of the main things holding some players back from being able to play what they want, feel, hear in their head/heart, is that simple fact that their hands lack the endurance to keep up with their creativity. The good news, this is very simple to fix. It just takes........PRACTICE! Let’s warm up. FINGER YOGA! Let’s do our usual Finger Yoga stretches. Here is a link to the video for references. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POvVMNdc6Tg GETTING UP TO SPEED with EXTREEEEEEEEEEME Endurance Let’s take a basic shape and run it up the strings in “threes”, or up three strings down one. Strike only once at the open string then left hand hammer on the rest of the notes And the Guitar Pro Tablature File. 70_Warmup.gp5 ( 2.11K ) Number of downloads: 176 *Once we have this down, lets march it up the neck one fret at a time with our Metronome and work on our Endurance. *Now, let’s try this same thing as an alternate/economic picking workout. Again, up the neck one fret at a time. Now let’s cross the line and dive in to CRAZY LAND. Let’s do our EXTREME endurance pattern and toss in an EXTREM finger stretch as a bonus! If your hand can’t take this, don’t be heart broken, IT”S REALLY, REALLY HARD! And the Guitar Pro Tablature File. 70_Warmup_II.gp5 ( 2.11K ) Number of downloads: 188 *Once we have this down, lets march it up the neck one fret at a time with our Metronome and work on our Endurance. *Now, let’s try this same thing as an alternate/economic picking workout. Again, up the neck one fret at a time. Let’s add some complexity in to our work. Let’s take this Minor pattern and run it as a open string single pick strike and as an alternate picking workout on each string in sequence. And the Guitar Pro Tablature File. 70a.gp5 ( 1.93K ) Number of downloads: 209 Let’s invert this shape and do the same things. Open string single, and alternate on each string. GMC VIDEO CHAT LESSON #72 - The Magic Pinky (The Secret Sauce of Spooky Technique)
Let’s delve in to “Magic Pinky” that oft ignored of fingers that holds the secrete to many wild and frightening techniques. Here is a Quick Video Preview of the sort of tapping/stretch work we have planned. WARM UP: *Finger Yoga! (Per usual let’s stretch and avoid Carpal Tunnel Syndrome!) WARMING UP THE WEAKEST FINGER. Take a look at our first tablature. Here is the GUITAR PRO 5 File for it. Lesson_72___Warmup_I.gp5 ( 1.53K ) Number of downloads: 188 Here we go. *Let’s start out by alternate picking this and just loop it for a bit while working up speed. *Now Let’s do the same pattern four times in a row, and on every string and loop that while working up speed. Now let’s make it a bit more interesting (Per a recent Poll on GMC) and add TAPPING! Here is the GUITAR PRO 5 File for it. 72_Pinky_Warmup_II.gp5 ( 1.55K ) Number of downloads: 178 Now let’s do the same modifications as before and try not to melt our hand off. *Let’s start out by alternate picking this and just loop it for a bit while working up speed. *Now Let’s do the same pattern four times in a row, and on every string and loop that while working up speed. LESSON 33 REVISITED Let’s pull out a couple of licks we used in Lesson 33 and build on those. Here are the tablatures. Now Let's try the lick from the Preview Video Here is the GUITAR PRO 5 File for it. 72_Pinky_Magic_III.gp5 ( 1.8K ) Number of downloads: 186 LESSON LINKS/FILES Here is a link to the Guitar Rig Patch from Today’s Lesson (Unzip, copy to your preset folder, update Guitar Rig using updater) GMC_LESSON_72_WAH_WAH.ksd.zip ( 5.55K ) Number of downloads: 193 Free Software For Recording (Guitar Rig Free, and Pod Farm Demo and Reaper, etc.) https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_fo...showtopic=36238 Published by Google Docs–Report Abuse–Updated automatically every 5 minutes This post has been edited by Todd Simpson: Aug 31 2011, 06:44 AM |

GMC VIDEO CHAT LESSON #73 - The Magic Pinky Part II (The Secret Sauce of Spooky Technique)
Let’s delve in to “Magic Pinky” a bit more. that oft ignored of fingers that holds the secrete to many wild and frightening techniques. STRETCHES! *Finger Yoga! (Per usual let’s stretch and avoid Carpal Tunnel Syndrome!) WARMING UP *Let’s start out by alternate picking this. One we have it down, lets move it down the strings. Now let’s do a shape that will help us prep for something a bit more complex. Let’s alternate pick this. Use economic if you feel it’s more natural. Now let’s do something new. We are going to add a “Slide” in to a scale shape and combine with our alternate picking/economic picking. Now let’s take this a bit further and make a really, really, looooooong scale run with slides. LESSON 74 - SPOOKY SPEED AND SYMMETRY
In this lesson, we are going to explore the concept of "Symmetry" using shapes that are the same on more than one string. In this case, the B and high E string. The entire lesson is in the key of E Minor as is the backing. Here is a preview of the backing track. http ://soundcloud.com/techniqueswithtodd/g...-divina-mortis let’s warm up a bit and get our fingers ready to rip! FINGER YOGA! Let’s do our usual Finger Yoga stretches. Here is a link to the video for references. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POvVMNdc6Tg PERFECT SYMMETRY - Part 1 Let’s explore symmetry in the Key of E Minor on the B and E string using a Minor Shape. For our first one, let’s keep it simple. Let’s strike once per four note group. Now let’s also alternate pick this and palm mute it. And of course Double Pick it as well. PERFECT SYMMETRY - Part 2 Now, let’s try this as a “Symmetrical” pattern on two strings and believe it or not, it’s still E minor. *Now let’s also alternate pick this and palm mute it. *And of course Double Pick it as well. *Now let’s play what we have so far against our backing. PERFECT SYMMETRY - Part 3 *Here’s where it gets tricky. Let’s try this pattern and add out sliding magic pink trick in to play. *Now let’s also alternate pick this and palm mute it. *And of course Double Pick it as well. PERFECT SYMMETRY - Part 4 And finally, let’s try this bit which sounds like a classical etude and might make your head explode or fingers melt. Here goes! *Now let’s also alternate pick this and palm mute it. *And of course Double Pick it as well. GMC VIDEO CHAT LESSON #75
(Here are Guitar Pro 5 Files for this lesson. Download them before starting.) GuitarPro5_Files_Lesson75.zip ( 2.89K ) Number of downloads: 183 In honor of the recent LOVE ME competition by our founder Kris Dahl, we are going to do a LOVE ME Lesson! So LOVE IT! The usual warm up seems like a good idea so let’s do our stretches per usual. Now on to the pain! Here is the link to LOVE ME Competition on GMC. Check it out if you have not already. Great Song! https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/love-me-lesson/ Here is the link to my Solo on which todays lesson is based. The first lick is quite a stretch. Just for fun let’s try it as a stretch warmup. Now let’s look at the Harmonic Minor scale in our Key. Playing it this low on the neck presents some challenges. Let’s start here with the high strings and work with the shape using our various picking approaches. Let’s take a look at the scale from the low strings and use some open string technique. Again, let’s work with our usually Picking Chaos. Now that our fingers know where to go, let’s do the entire scale. We are using open strings, and some serious stretching to make this scale happen here. Once you get used to this pattern, it’s very handy in a solo. Now let’s throw some higher fret work in and attack it with our picking approaches. Now let’s do something different and add pull offs in it and a huge stretch to combine with our picking! This is the capstone bit for this lesson. Here is the tablature but I"m not going to include the Guitar Pro File as I want you to use your ear a bit and the tab instead of playback through the GP5. GMC LESSON 78 - SHREDDING THE BLUES
In this lesson we are going to add a bit of shred to the blues. These shapes should be familiar so we can focus on our picking and our speed a bit more than on our left hand workLet's warm up! FINGER YOGA! Let’s do our usual Finger Yoga stretches. Here is a link to the video for references. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POvVMNdc6Tg BLUES - FEELING THE SHRED. GUITAR_PRO_FILES.zip ( 69K ) Number of downloads: 162 Let's look at our first shape. Let's play this with our backing as well and try to double/triple pick it! Let's add to this shape. Now let's move up the neck a bit and put a bit of a strech in to things. This one will be a bit of a challenge at first, but your hand will adapt right away. Now let's put one of our "Paul Gilbert" style licks in. BONUS: Here is our bonus lick. It's a rythm from 77 that was just to much for our last get together. It's a great way to work up your inside and outside picking. This post has been edited by Todd Simpson: Oct 13 2011, 02:11 AM |

Here is a link to the video for references. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POvVMNdc6Tg DJENT OR NOT DJENT? In this lesson let's take some cues from what has come to be known as "Djent", despite Misha's (Periphery) attempt to fight it, it's become a Metal Subgenre. Onward Djentlemen! First up, let's get our hands used playing Diatonic structures to give them some muscle memory. This is a very simple shape so we can work up some killer speed. This shape is used quite a bit in DJent. Play this as written and then let's walk it up and down the neck. Strike the first note, then Hammer On the rest. So ONE PICK STROKE, per every 3 Notes. 79 PART A Here is the GuitarPro5 File GMC79A.gp5 ( 1.51K ) Number of downloads: 171 And the Tablature 79 PART B Here is the GuitarPro5 File GMC79B.gp5 ( 1.71K ) Number of downloads: 161 And the Tablature 79 PART C Here is the GuitarPro5 File GMC79C.gp5 ( 1.61K ) Number of downloads: 164 And the Tablature 79 PART D Here is the GuitarPro5 File GMC79D.gp5 ( 1.94K ) Number of downloads: 157 And the Tablature 79 PART E Here is the GuitarPro5 File GMC79E.gp5 ( 1.67K ) Number of downloads: 152 And the Tablature Let's focus on our THUMBLESS technique for a bit. Thanks to everyone who came out for today's SATURDAY VIDEO CHAT! It was a bit more EXTREME than usual and several hands/arms melted off during session. I realized that once we have 6 examples/shapes/patterns to learn and play that we might be pushing the boundary a bit far. More fun next time, but perhaps a tad more restrained
Here is the link to the lesson notes for this week with Guitare Pro Files and backing track. http://bit.ly/gmclesson79 See you guys next weekend! Special props to everyone who make it to Example G! Todd |

GMC LESSON 80 - ALTERNATE PICKING (Straight Line Speed VS Cornering Speed)
http://bit.ly/gmclesson80 Ben Higgins (Our resident GMC Zen/Guitar Master/Monster) recently was talking about the difference between 'Straight line Speed" vs "Speed in the corners". He has a great point on the difference and why each are important. You really need a strong base in one before you can work on the other. Straight being the first that builds to cornering. FINGER YOGA! Let’s do our usual Finger Yoga stretches. Here is a link to the video for references. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POvVMNdc6Tg PENTATONIC SHRED FEST We are going to use the current PENTATONIC SHRED COLLAB (From Gabriel Lapardi) as our backing. If you have not joined this Collab yet, bop over and join! It's a great chance to show off what you have learned and play against a very cool backing. Here is the link. SIGN UP FOR PENTATONIC SHRED COLLAB https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_fo...mp;#entry549829 Here is a link to his Video Lesson that this Collab is Based on. It's a KILLER example of using chromatic bits within a pentatonic scale as we often do when working with pentatonics. https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Pentatonic-Shred-Licks/ WARMUP LICK Let's get our fingers moving with a warmup lick. It's a semi Diatonic scale done with open strings and hammer ons. Let's alternate pick it as well. Here is the Guitar Pro 5 file and tablature. 80_Warmup.gp5 ( 1.6K ) Number of downloads: 148 STRAIGHTLINE SPEED Let's do a lick to work on our "Straight Line Speed". This should feel familiar. It's based on the minor scale and open string as pedal point. Hopefully, the lick is familiar/easy enough to let us focus more on Alternate Picking and overall Speed rather than fingering. Here is the Guitar Pro 5 file and tablature. 80_a.gp5 ( 1.9K ) Number of downloads: 175 CORNERING Now let's do a similar lick but traverse strings instead of running up the neck. Here is the Guitar Pro 5 file and tablature. 80_B.gp5 ( 1.89K ) Number of downloads: 176 COMBINING STRAIGHT AND CURVY Let's now look at playing with our backing and combine our techniques. Here is a pentatonic lick that works well when alternate picked or done more dynamically. Here is the Guitar Pro 5 file and tablature. 80_C.gp5 ( 1.65K ) Number of downloads: 180 Let's do that same lick an octave up and play them together with our backing. Here is the Guitar Pro 5 file and tablature. 80_D.gp5 ( 1.65K ) Number of downloads: 182 Here is the backing track with some solo licks for a preview. ToddWithBacking_gabcollab.mp3 ( 1.14MB ) Number of downloads: 125 79 REWIND Let's look at the BOSS LEVEL lick from last weeks lesson for a second. GMC LESSON 81 - SPOOKY RYTHMS/LEADS
Direct LInk to this Lesson http://bit.ly/gmclesson81 Let's give our lesson a bit of a Spooky vibe in light of HALLOWEEN!. Changing a pattern but just a couple of notes can have a big impact on it's sound. Let's explore that a bit and work on our alternate picking and picking between strings. FINGER YOGA! Let’s do our usual Finger Yoga stretches. Here is a link to the video for references. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POvVMNdc6Tg WARMUP Let's give our fingers a bit of advanced warning on whats coming up with a warmup shape. SPOOKY PATTERNS ACROSS STRINGS This shape has a bit of a "spooky" vibe as it's based on a Minor shape. Going across strings and alternate picking/economic picking takes practice but its worth it. Let's take this shape and march it over the neck. 81A.gp5 ( 1.51K ) Number of downloads: 153 Now let's make the shape sound a bit more "happy" and work on our picking there as well. 81B.gp5 ( 1.51K ) Number of downloads: 154 BACKING TRACK/SOLO WORK Let's carry over with a pattern we used for a lead shape in our last lesson and use the same pattern as a rythm. Some patterns/shapes work well as both. Feel free to use hammer on/pull off techniques as this doesn't need to be strictly picked. Here is the backing track Lesson63_Backing.mp3 ( 2.33MB ) Number of downloads: 189 And the shape from last time with a slight mod in two positions. 81Backinga.gp5 ( 1.86K ) Number of downloads: 162 81Backingb.gp5 ( 1.86K ) Number of downloads: 154 This is a Pentatonic shape and has a KEY SHIFT (Shifting or "Modulating" from G to F#) Let's practice playing a solo and shifting down with the rythm so our solo stays in key. Let's start our lick in A then move down to F#. Same exact lick, just shift it down. 81_Solo_A.gp5 ( 1.65K ) Number of downloads: 147 This post has been edited by Todd Simpson: Nov 1 2011, 01:52 AM |

LESSON 82 - REVERSE AND INVERSE
http://bit.ly/gmclesson82 In this lesson, we are going to work on Alternate Picking per usual and do it in the context of our backing track and throw in some inversions for fun! Let's stretch and warmup! FINGER YOGA! Let’s do our usual Finger Yoga stretches. Here is a link to the video for references. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POvVMNdc6Tg WARM UP Let's get our hands ready for shredding it up today. This shape will prep your fingers for whats to come. Let's play this four times at each fret and march it up the neck. 82_Warmup.gp5 ( 1.51K ) Number of downloads: 142 INVERSIONS Let's work our alternate picking and our economic picking with the shape we just did so we can get a bit further a bit faster. 82a.gp5 ( 1.64K ) Number of downloads: 164 Let's march this shape up the neck and try it on the high and low strings. MIXING SHAPES WITH INVERSIONS Now that we have some practice with inversions, and picking, let's use the Minor Scale shape which means doing a different shape on each of the two strings. Let's march this around as well. This is actually a lick that we will use with our backing. We have worked up to it, so it should be workable once we play it with music. 82b.gp5 ( 1.64K ) Number of downloads: 154 MIX AND MATCH PICKING/PULL OFFS Let's take a semi novel approach to a familiar scale. Let's stay in the Minor Scale and add pull off's as well as alternate picking. 82c.gp5 ( 1.53K ) Number of downloads: 160 BACKING TRACK Here is Today's Backing. Download it so you can practice these licks with music. Lesson_82_GMC.mp3 ( 4.35MB ) Number of downloads: 175 This post has been edited by Todd Simpson: Nov 5 2011, 09:06 PM |

LESSON 83 - SOLO DECONSTRUCTION/RECONSTRUCTION
http://bit.ly/gmclesson83 In this lesson, we are going to work on breaking down a crazy solo and building it back up and playing it! FINGER YOGA! Let’s do our usual Finger Yoga stretches. Here is a link to the video for references. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POvVMNdc6Tg WARMUP Let's work on our stretch and reach a bit. Each string we have on this tab has a new shape. Let's play each example on all the strings instead of changing at each string as written. I wanted to keep the tab as short as possible. Lesson83wup.gp5 ( 1.64K ) Number of downloads: 145 CRAZY REACH! I get a lot of questions on how I managed to increase my finger stretch/range to the point it is now. The answer is really simple Practice! So let's jump in. Take a look at this tab. Each string has a new pattern. This is just to show you the patterns. Let's play each pattern on all the strings, instead of changing each time. Lesson83A.gp5 ( 1.7K ) Number of downloads: 159 SOLO DECONSTRUCTION Today's lesson is based on BEN HIGGINS new COLLAB ( called the DYNAMITE COLLAB!) After today you should be ready to rip it up so go join! Here is the link. https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_fo...c=41291&hl= From Ben's notes, we get this CRITICAL bit. "The backing is in 2 distinct parts.. the first half, up until 0:18 is in the key of Am. So you can use Aminor pentatonic, A natural minor, A blues, A dorian." So we need to be able to switch keys in the middle of a solo. When you are learning a solo by ear, mid stream key changes can be a challenge, depending. So be ready for the switch! Here is a Video Preview of the first section of our Solo. Here is our first lick. It's all about Tapping/Hammering and using our "Double Tap" technique. LESSON 84 - EXTENDED PENTASRED LICKS ( http://bit.ly/gmclesson84 )
Let's do some extended penatonic style shred licks. We are going to use Gab's Pentatonic Shred Collab as our Backing again as it's perfect for this type of work. But first let's warm up per usual! FINGER YOGA! (While warming up, take a peek at this. *Check out this MASSIVE drum kit. I helped setup this session with 16 microphones. Sounded amazing. HUGE KIT *Ran across my first alternate picking training pick! The device that helped me break my own speed barrier. It's called the STYLUS PICK. Here is a graphic to illustrate a critical concept. STYLUS PICK GRAPHIC I"m having Vinnie @ VPICKS make me some custom picks that may really help folks. I'll let you guys know how they go. WARMUP Let's use this pattern to get our fingers moving and work our stretch a bit. Let's marc this up the neck using picking and hammer on techniques. FIRST EXTENDED LICK GUITAR PRO 5 FILES INCLUDED 84_Warmup.gp5 ( 1.76K ) Number of downloads: 127 Now let's dig in to our licks. We are going to break them down in to workable chunks. Here is the first. 84_Part_1.gp5 ( 1.63K ) Number of downloads: 152 And the next bit. 84_Part_1_B.gp5 ( 1.63K ) Number of downloads: 153 And the final bit of our first lick. 84_Part_1_C.gp5 ( 1.88K ) Number of downloads: 154 When we put all that together, we have a cool, long, rock lick that travels around the fretboard and sounds great when done right. Let's Try that lick with our backing. Now let's try our second lick. SECOND EXTENDED LICK Again, let's break this down in separate chunks. Here is the first. 84_Part__2_A.gp5 ( 1.82K ) Number of downloads: 177 And the second. 84_Part__2_B.gp5 ( 1.68K ) Number of downloads: 151 Let's play these chunks together and try them with our backing as well. Now let's try both licks in a row. As a bonus, let's work on our PINKY a bit! 84SuperPinky.gp5 ( 1.57K ) Number of downloads: 152 Here is our full backing track for reference. LESSON 85 - FUNKTIFIED
http://bit.ly/gmclesson85 Let's embrace the funk! We are going to use Ivan's FUNK COLLAB as our backing. If you have not joined this collab yet, here is the link. Entries are due Nov 30 2011. https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_fo...=41505&st=0 KILLER TUTORIAL (Recording/Audio/Video Using Only FREE Software!) Ivan just posted this awesome tutorial to show folks how to get pro quality results without breaking the band. Curious about REAPER? Recording Video with Audio? Watch this vid! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18Kh2LB7K_E FINGER YOGA! Let’s do our usual Finger Yoga stretches. Here is a link to the video for references. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POvVMNdc6Tg WARMUP We are going to need our pinky for playing some funk! Let's heat it up. Let's start this shape in our backing key, and move it up the neck. Guitar Pro 5 and Tab Lesson_85_Warmup.gp5 ( 1.69K ) Number of downloads: 155 Now let's move from open string work to closed patterns/shapes. Let's keep focus on that oft neglected finger and move this around the neck after starting in our backing key. This lick will work well with our backing. Onward to a two string inversion lick. Combining two inversions, we will move this around the neck to work on our picking and play it on E and B starting strings. It also works well with the backing. Lesson85b.gp5 ( 1.79K ) Number of downloads: 168 Lastly, let's review a lick from a previous session and apply it to our backing. In lesson 82 we worked on scale inversions on two strings. Let's move that same shape around a bit and play it with our backing. Hopefully, most of you already know this lick and can focus on playing cleaner/faster/better with the backing. NOTES IN PROGRESS
GMC LESSON 86 - EXTREMES OF REACH AND SPEED http://bit.ly/gmclesson86 In this lesson, let's explore our reach and our speed a bit. We have been stretching forever so let's put it to good use! Let's warm up by doing our usual finger yoga. It's really important this time in particular. Here is our backing for today that we will solo over. Give it a listen during our Finger Yoga. It's a bit "Racer X". SpeedKillsAgain.mp3 ( 1.27MB ) Number of downloads: 162 FINGER YOGA! Let’s do our usual Finger Yoga stretches. Here is a link to the video for references. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POvVMNdc6Tg WARMUP Now let's dig in to our warmup shape. This may seem a bit much at first. IF so, we can start up higher and work lower. This shape is part of our scale (A AEOLIAN) That we are going to be working with Today. Guitar Pro File 86_WARMUP.gp5 ( 1.76K ) Number of downloads: 140 Associated Tablature Let's move that around a bit and get used to the stretch. Perhaps work it up the neck? WORKING THE STRETCH ( String Focus OPEN AND SINGLE) This is a very important section. Let's start picking once on the open string and hammering on the rest. Then alterate pick the hole thing. Then go all the way up and back down, then try it on the low E. Guitar Pro File 86a.gp5 ( 1.7K ) Number of downloads: 149 Associated Tablature WORKING THE SPEED (String Focus CLOSED AND SINGLE) ADDING HAMMER ON/TAPPING (OPEN AND SINGLE) Let's do a four finger tapping version of this lick. Guitar Pro File 86b.gp5 ( 1.88K ) Number of downloads: 152 Associated Tablature WORKING UP THE NECK Let's do some palm muting with our alternate picking as we move this shape up the neck in the key of A Minor. Guitar Pro File 86c.gp5 ( 1.7K ) Number of downloads: 143 Associated Tablature BOSS LEVEL Now combine all of these and play them with the backing as solo licks. In any order, at any speed. Let your creativity take over and make the licks your own! Practtice! Todd This post has been edited by Todd Simpson: Dec 3 2011, 09:49 PM |

GMC LESSON 87 Direct Link http://bit.ly/gmclesson87
CLICK HERE TO JOIN CHAT ROOM @ 5PM EST 10PM GMT https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/chat In this lesson, I'm going to pack TONS of stuff in. Hopefully not too much! we are going to do some Quasi Neo Classical stuff to help us with Alternate Picking / Economic Picking and Pinky Work! Let's warm up and get going! FINGER YOGA! Let’s do our usual Finger Yoga stretches. Here is a link to the video for references. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POvVMNdc6Tg I've been getting questions on what I'm using for my tone in the chats and it's Guitar Rig and OVERLOUD TH2. Here is a spiff preset for GR4. By looking at the modules it will help you build your own The stock presets did not impress me, but you can build some killer tones with tweaking. GMC_LESSON_87_MONSTER_GAIN.ksd.zip ( 5.56K ) Number of downloads: 144 Let's start with a shape that will serve as warmup and workout part A. We are going to work on our AP/ECO and our precision. This shape is a bit of a finger twister so don't worry about playing it fast. It's actually built just so you can't play it overly fast, especially at first. But that's fine, this is more about precision. Let's loop this shape and then march it up the neck a bit. 87A.gp5 ( 1.76K ) Number of downloads: 155 Now let's add something to this. It's going to take on a bit of a Neo-Classical Vibe. Which is always good Let's loop this too and then move it up the neck. 87B.gp5 ( 1.58K ) Number of downloads: 149 Now for the BIG challenge of this series. We are going to use our Pinky to change the alternating tone. This will be a challenge indeed. 87C.gp5 ( 2.28K ) Number of downloads: 154 Let's swith gears a bit and move to a three string pattern of greater complexity. More AP/ECO work here. Let's loop this and march it up the neck a bit. 87_D.gp5 ( 1.87K ) Number of downloads: 136 This post has been edited by Todd Simpson: Dec 10 2011, 10:49 PM |
