Hello guys and girls! This is my first and fresh collab for GMC! This is way fun,

I got inspired by watching a starry night (who hasn't been there?) and recorded a backing track on 5/8. I went for a very soothing, relaxed, dark vibe. I think it has some fusion in it as well,

For the first part, the chords pretty much are a prolongation of Em7 with added C and F#.

Second part are: Am7 – G – D7

Back to first part, and for the last part the chords are:
Em9 – D/E – G/E – Bm7 - D – Em7 (not exactly sure though) huh.gif

Some suggested scales are Em, G, Bm but really just follow your ears and don’t over analyse the note names,
if you want don’t even analyse them at all,

I think it’s a good idea to go for melodic ideas over this musical idea. But just go for whatever you feel like.
If you feel like shredding it, please do!

Feel free to take risks, 1000 points to the riskiest tongue.gif

Tempo: 148bpm

Deadline: November 29th/2009

I gave this a quick shot this morning. I was all over the place and it didn't sound very good. If I can pull something out of the bag in the next couple of weeks? See how I go with this. I very much like the backing track just wish it was a bit longer for I feel any guitar overdubs would require LOT'S of space ....

Give it a go, it doesn't matter if you don't like it, just do your best, that's what these are for,

The idea for this collab it's to make it short as if it was a solo in a ballad,

you're in!

I love #9. Thats my number. I used it when I played Football back in school. smile.gif

Yes, I just composed on the so nice backing track and the odd timing. I had always wanted to try this to get away from 4/4 beats. I once composed a 7/8 rhythm and my drummer couldn't beat it. I will post the record tomorrow after a bit of practice.

I am in!

Hi Daniel,

Any chance I can join? If so, it will be my first collaboration attempt.
I started playing with this backing last night and it was very interesting.
