If you are a laptop user (for your music recording) and have noticed that your computer is acting odd (e.g. random crashes etc.) then it might be time to replace the internal cooling fans. These fans die after a time and once they die, the laptop starts to run hot. Computers that run hot start acting very odd.

The quick cheap fix is to simply buy new fans. I'm using a 2012 Macbook Pro (yup 5 years old and hasn't changed much in terms of performance since then. The new ones have ram that is soldered in place, yuck). Two fans cost about $20, it's roughly the same for many PC laptops. It's a simple procedure typically. Just take off the bottom, unscrew the old fans, put in the new ones and put the case back together. Now my laptop runs cool and has stopped acting odd smile.gif
