hey gmc smile.gif I've been wanting to buy a small practice amp like about 15-30 watts. I want the amp to have a very good clean channel to hook my effects through (i use effects from pedals anyway). I was looking at the marshall MGs and was thinking of getting one without the effects. I have line 6 spider 4 75 watt which i probably would be selling anytime soon. After some time of messing around with different amp sounds and tones, i realized that the Line 6 sounds a little too digital. So i'm looking for something that sounds more authentic. Any suggestions?

I use a vox valvetronix 30 wats which I think is pretty good for the price - both clean and leads! (Vox has good experience of both)

If you don't need the effects maybe look at something like this?

Don't know the price level though

Vox sounds like a good choice for clean sound.
Maybe something from Laney, they have a pretty good clean : http://www.laney.co.uk/show_prod.php?prod=lx20

Also small Fenders may be interesting choice. Depends on your budget.

I use a Marshall Valvestate but it's a 80 watts amp. If you can go for the 30w version you'll get what you are looking for...

Hey Badfinger smile.gif Have you thought about the Orange series of Practice amps? The "LDX" is a great sounding amp for a couple hundred Euro. Here is a vid about the line.

Thanks kris biggrin.gif But i don't think i can find that anywhere here in my country. Maybe online perhaps. But i really just want a decent amp, doesn't have to be top of the line or anything. Maybe i could spend about 200-300 dollars.

Thanks Bodgan biggrin.gif Actually i've used laney amps for recording and rehearsals and they are actually pretty good, i'll sure check them out =)

Thanks Gabe biggrin.gif They seem to have effects as well? I really just need it to have clean and overdrive channel and maybe some inputs for headphones and mp3 but none of the other fancy stuff tongue.gif I use my multi fx pedal mostly anyway. But if they really sound good, i might consider. Though i'm not sure if they are available in local stores here.

Around 200-300 dollars. Hopefully i don't have to spend that much for a 15 watt to 20 watt amp tongue.gif Thanks:D

Thanks Todd biggrin.gif They seem pretty cool. I'm really looking at the 12 watt amp. Not many authorized dealers here for orange amps, so i really got to go check the price. I'm guessing it might be a little expensive.

Hey mate, there is one interesting option. It's from the store in Singapore, here's the link:

http://www.citymusic.com.sg/index.asp?p=/static/contact.html

It's this amp:

This is a great practice amp, and it costs 220$. It is packed with great options, and for starting out, it's a great choice. You even got songs recorded, so you can jam along. Lots of fun, lots of cool effects and tones.

If you want something more authentic, you need bigger budget. One thing that can sound authentic in that price range is AC4TV all tube VOX amp:

It's ~300$ in the same store. However, this amp doesn't have FX loop for effects (your pedals), and it has clean tone only on smaller volumes. It's more logical to take it just because of it's smooth all-tube overdrive tone.
