Thursday 9th July Maria and I got our daughter (and first child - if we don't count GMC! 
)
We are planning on naming her Lea.

Thanks so much guys I am really looking forward to understanding what being a father means!
Everything is currently a little upside down- and it's a little hard to understand we are going to take this little child with us back home (we are at the hospital now).

Did u guys notice that Maria and Lea have their birthday on the same day.....checkout the who is celebrating birthday section........What a day...there should be some celebrations ......
No my mistake Lea's birthday on 9th july and Maria's on 10th...but thats even better 48 hours of celebration instead of 24 .....

Congratulations to you both. enjoy the sleepless nights and (seemingley) endless nappy changes, coz this is the best time. when she starts to get mobile you will need eyes in the back of your head and you will know no rest.
its hard work but so rewarding.

Many congratulations!
I still remember the lack of sleep when our daughter was born (she's now 9) and the feeling of both joy and a degree of panic when I went and picked up my wife and daughter from the hospital. The panic was, for me, about what do you do when the baby wants whatever and there's no nurse/midwife on hand to show you or help. Things settle down though pretty quickly and you adapt.
Take loads of videos and pictures as it's amazing how quickly the time goes and also how quickly children grow up
