I think he best instructor would be Guthrie Govan, he can play very different styles !!! love this player wink.gif

BTW Victor Smolski, Matthias IA Ekund, Rusty Cooley or John Petrucci would be awesome biggrin.gif
(Don't mention Vai, Sath, Gilbert, kotzen, Friedman, Malmsteen...)

ohmy.gif Imagine if we made a list together. The site would have to be shut down due to its size.

marty is awesome. james hetfield has never played anything that ive ever found challenging though.

I still find his riffs catchy, if not extremely technical. Pretty much like Slash. And yeah, I thinkl if James had seriously focused on guitar he could be shredding circles around Kirk.

+1 for Malmsteen, Schaffer, and Laiho

Agreed. Pretty much said the same thing. Krik is great too, he is known to be sloppy and mess up a lot but if he decided to take care of his weaknesses I think he would have success doing so.

Idk...It seems as if Kirk has just gotten worse over his career. He seriously needs to tighten up, not that he's a bad player, just not great.
