Posted by: Tolek Mar 31 2009, 04:26 PM
Hey guys!
As promised, here´s the first collaboration that only involves you, the mentorees, and me, the mentor. Actually, this is the very first backing track I made and I´m pretty proud of it. I hope you enjoy soloing to it!
First 8 bars: D Pentatonic, D minor (harmonic or natural), D Phrygian Dominant
Next 4 bars: E Pentatonic, E minor (harmonic or natural), E Phrygian Dominant
Next 1 bar: just simply nothing, or play D (which plays the rhyhtm guitar as well)
Next 4 bars. the same as in the beginning
I´d like you also to learn how to play the backing track. I tabbed it for you.

Gr8! I see you put a gp5 file too. Would Guitar Pro be worth investing in?
What is the BPM on this? For the project file.

I´d first learn exactly the theory behind music and then buy it. Or another alternative: buy GP as a help for understanding theory.
However, there´s another program that opens those files, but I forgot its name. I know that it´s free and that it has the same options, but it is a bit harder to use.
The tempo is 120.

Oh, sorry. Of course I mean D minor pentatonic since I mentioned the D minor scale, too.

You don´t have to do anything excellent. Just play a nice melody (metal like of course
) and stay in the scale.

Hi Tolek
Regarding the slides in the backing track. What I see and hear is that you are sliding up and back without strumming on the return. Do I have that right?
cheers

Yes. Just hit the 3 strings once and slide up and then down.
