Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Welcome to REC and congrats on a great first take!

From what i can hear you are doing very good here.

I would advise you to try to always have a steady pulse going by tapping your foot. It might not make that much of a difference for this lesson, but you will find it invaluable as you tackle more complex material. And if you lay the foundation for it now it will save you so much time and headache further down the road.

Other than that I notice some occasional hand syn glitches, ie towards the end where you have some bigger position shifts (01:17).

Hi mate!

Congrats on your first REC take! We've been talking about this one at the mentoring program. The main element to adjust here is timing which is not bad but it's not precise. You tend to go a bit after the beat when playing chords, and it is irregular when playing melodies and other single note arrangements.

Tapping with your foot, or moving your head even more to feel the beat can really help. Go for it!

Hey there!

Same as guys above, I would like to congratulate you this very first take in REC. It sounds really good. It is a simple lesson, but still there are not obvious mistakes you could do....but you didn't. There are mainly two things:

1. Timing/hand sync - at some point you loose the groove but it's not like you're gone totally. We speak of little slips.

2. Picking hand - picking/slanting direction. Gabriel does it all downwards only. It has sepcific feeling, tone and accenting to it. If you replace it with alternate picking/strumming, you take away some of the flavor. It is also a great exercise for your right hand...if you keep doing things like in the original lesson.

Besides this, you did a really good job - pleasant to listen - well intonated and overall "taken care of" feeling that i like smile.gif
