Eq-yes Or No?

But it can be a part of Your sound if You use it to the extreme and filters to get some odd sounds. Otherwise it can be handy in small venues for instance, when running a 412 it gets boomy in small places, and then You filter out some bass. Some guitarists, like Tom Morello, will only use the EQ for a lead volume boost. Some amps have incredible EQ built into them, so I think they are really important when you are mixing in a studio. Live, not so much. It is all preference, like I said: The only guitarist I know who specifically says he uses an EQ is Tom Morello and he says "I only use it when I wish to go to 11 " :-) You are at GuitarMasterClass.net Don't miss today's free lick.
