Another one of the songs I wrote. L'Hymne Du Morte

Swirls of rapturous dark, destroy my soul, Breaking apart the
boundaries of hell,
Through death our friends may see the pain carved through their lives
going against the grain
Stab a hole through the silence, Rip a piece from the god,
Painted abstracts which grace the walls, in respect of the tormented
one

The tormented one
Disfigured and Burnt
In the shadows he hides
As he crawls through the night

Now you may find in the black
A deeper sense of who you are
A judgement over time
A dream revive your past
but where your heading, you know
It isn't shining so bright
A lantern in the mist
A hymn sounding your last dawn

Though Death marks my end
Let the brain live on
A testament to many
Though a message aimed at one
A force to be reckoned with
as it lingers over the grave
Closely guarded thoughts and no binds for these wounds

As the gods rip the flesh straight from my bones
An existence deserved for an evil soul
Drill through my head I wont feel a thing
Its living thats painful let me wallow in hell

Let me wallow in hell
Try and break from the chains
From the dark depths I rise
As I head towards the light

Through the dark corridors of despair, to a place of rest,
the candles bare light on the grave, the true final rest

Now you may find in the black
A deeper sense of who you are
A judgement over time
A dream may revive your past
but where your heading, you know
It isn't shining so bright
A lantern in the mist
A hymn sounding your last dawn

Thanks. It means a lot to me. I'm going through a bit of a dry spell with lyrics and song ideas at the minute. Those are the last lyrics I wrote. I have another song called Desolate Wasteland that I just wrote which is about my hometown of Blackpool.

Their are maniacal chants under that section that sound like people murmuring a hymn. It's a cool a bit smile.gif Oh and I missed one word tongue.gif A dream may revive your past smile.gif

It means literally the Hymn of Death. Hence the chanting of a hymn in the chorus. It's about the run up to the end of life basically. When you are just passing to the other side.

Did you use an translation site? Because its actually wrong, if you wanna say the Hymn of Death, it would be "L' hymne de la mort". biggrin.gif

haha. Far from pros but I have learnt from the absolute rubbish I wrote when I was younger biggrin.gif I may post lyrics to the first song I ever wrote tomorrow. They are awful but interestingly its one of our bands fan favourites. Annoyingly as we hate it smile.gif

You should put up some lyrics and we can try and offer help on improving. Or they may be awesome instantly and you're hiding them from the world biggrin.gif
