Hi to all, I would like to know if anybody here knows anything about pianos (Except Marcus that is, but you can post your contribution if you want smile.gif ). I'm thinking about getting a piano because I really want to have another instrument but I don't know what to get. I would prefer to get a classic piano, or digital one but I'm open to keyboard suggestions as well. Don't pass 2000 euros as price.

Thanks for your help
Filipe

Well you can check out some digital pianos if you have space at home. Other solution would be to get a 88key hammer action keyboard that can serve you as a master keyboard, also providing some sounds within. It depends what you wanna do with piano and how to use it.

Well, I really wanted suggestions on a piano, not a suggestion on what type of piano to buy...Unlike guitar, I just want to do some cover songs without that midi feeling, and maybe use it as a backing track to my recordings smile.gif

For that money you could buy some high quality keyborads...Piano is cool but not portable and takes a lot of space.. wink.gif

Korg keyboards are very good wink.gif

Any suggestions on which Korg? I said 2000 because I know classic pianos usually go to that price, but if I can see something around 1000 euros, I'd be happy smile.gif. Don't want anything cheap like 300 euros because I know I'll get some kind of midi sound and than I'll give up playing because of it.

I got a Yamaha P140. It does't have much possibilities, but I like it for the piano sound. I think new it's a little below that 2000 mark though. Can't remember.

Yes it is! It is a very good digital piano, I'd say. Good sound and keys as well. But as with any other instruments, the best advice is "try before you buy".

No problem, man! The P140 is a really good digital piano, I'd say. Sometimes I miss the pitch bend though, but if you're just out for the piano sound, as I was mostly (I like classical piano stuff), there is no need for it of course.

Yeah, I was looking for that classical piano stuff, like to play songs such as To Zanarkand as I showed in the cover of the piano you mentioned, but still I wanted to hear other suggestions

Clearly, don't wanna be hung up on you getting something you don't like, though I must say I'm sure you will. Go check it out at the shop along with other pianos! I'm sure they can give you some advice on what to buy too.

The man started asking what kind of piano I wanted, and I didn't understood anything he said...Kinda reminds me when I went to a guitar shop and didn't even knew what was a jak because I only played acoustic back than laugh.gif

Hehe. True enough. I remember those days too!

Anyways - did you get to try a good number of pianos out and did you find one you want?
