81/85 is a great combo for your needs. I suggest check out some guitar in a guitar store with similar configuration if you can, these pups sound similar on different guitars.

A EMG 81/85 set sets my vote. Excellent pickups thats actually good for more than just metal.

I put in the EMG 81/85 pickup's in my RGT42DX. They sound great. Way better than the stock Ibanez pickups it came with.
