Critter In My Dryer Vent Tube

There's something in my dryer vent tube and I'm a bit hesitate to pull the hose off. I'm thinking it's a bird for the fact the outlet outside the house is about 15 ft in the air, but then again... They used to make a nest right in the side of my house and soak up the fine aromas coming from my cooking As for the cage guard. After removing the bird, which seemed to be dead for a while, I'm still hearing a critter in there. Now I'm thinking it's a rat that was feeding on the bird and was coming for breakfast this morning.
