How To Play Faster, Caged Or 3 Nps Scales?

I've always found that playing three notes per string versions of scales allows for great smoothness of play and greater speed than playing the more traditional layout of many scales. For example, in this video, she starts with the G MAJOR scale in it's traditional and then 3NPS versions. Try both and see if you don't agree? Does anyone not like 3 NPS scales?
