It's done! I finally finished my pedal rack and worked out all the final details. I made an image gallery with descriptions here (http://imgur.com/a/7Qdp2) to share with everyone smile.gif Take a look and tell me what you think.

Excellent work! smile.gif

Oh man...I dig this kind of work as hell. I do myself like to mess with rig configurations, making things have order, minimum cables and control simplicity.

My latest sucess is this little case, having everything I need:

1. Compact sized, fully functionall 40 to 90 Watt, 3 channel amplifier
2. Midi controlled DIY wah wah
3. HBE Detox eq to boost some treble for a kind of "May-ish tone"
4. Shure Wireless device
5. Grip for Sennheiser E906 microphone
6. Goose neck mounted to the rack - if I have to move my rig on stage, at least my tone setup on front P.A does not change.
7. G-major for all fx I need in the amp's loop

On the back I've made a phantom powered midi out to supply my midi foot controller
There are also speakers out and line out slots

9 and 12V power suppliers are hidden on the sides of G-major. All power plugs have been cut adn soldered directly to main power input slot. Helps to same some space usually used by power strip.

There's also place for spare pack of string and baterries, capo, chord for guitar, midi and power chord.

Attached Image

I simpyl love to spend time figuring out every single part of the system to be optimal. It's always a long term project but it gives a lot of satisfaction once done, and a lot of fun while designing each element.

At this stage I'm awaiting my friend to put diy midi wah wah and hbe into one enxlosure, where hbe would be midi controlled as well. This will mean less signal cables and less power suplly cables. Not mentioning midi cable.

At this point I think like I've exlored case's space best I could smile.gif

I see you are doign exact same thing. It looks lovely, "in harmony" designed and very clean, organized. Great job smile.gif

This is awesome work! You could really have started something there for yourself! And for me personally it's inspiring in a different way because about two years ago I also dabbled a lot with electronics and modular component creation, although in the (nerdy) context of flight simulation components. I never got far enough to have something finished but I know how much work goes into such stuff. Maybe you got the beginnings of a small company here? smile.gif

Thanks guys smile.gif It was quite a bit of work, but I'm very proud of it. On to the next project! I think I might start designing my own overdrive or distortion pedal with a configurable signal path. Something like the Klonz amp crossed with Positive Grid's Bias pedal, but in analog hardware. We'll see... smile.gif

Yes, I love making things work for me in the most optimal way. It's very rewarding and you get to enjoy the benefits everytime you use it.

That's a very nice compliment Wyverex. Yes, it's surprising how much work goes into building some of the gear we use, apps, etc... As someone who makes that kind of thing, it's nicee to hear from those who appreciate the effort, if nothing else. There's such abundance these days, I think the amount of energy it takes to create is often forgotten.

Top notch work!!! I remember the original thread where we were chatting about the 500 series rack modules and doing something like that for guitar pedals and you actually built the entire thing!! It's pretty darn amazing. I'd love to see a vid with each of the units in the for quick demo of how they sound, controls, etc?

Super congrats and can't wait to see what you make next!

Todd

Must say I'm very impressed!

You've taken things to the next level, if you're thinking about making commercial products/custom solutions start with this on local studios as they might be very interested

There is only one pro company that I can think of that has made an analogue multi effects with digital control and it wasn't modular and was really expensive.

That's brilliant Brian. I've always thought it would be great for people in covers bands to be able to tweak their peddles without having to keep bending down between songs, especially when they play many styles. Nice one smile.gif
