That is a neat looking setup. My desk looks similar as I'm also using iMac as my base. Out of all the purchases, I think the one that I delayed for the longest was getting the studio monitors setup, and it turned out it was one of the best gear purchases I've ever made. I must say that I'm also guilty of not having pads under my monitors, they are just sitting on a desk. What are the perceived differences in sound between speakers on desk and when using pads? I'm really tempted now.

Isolation stands are big in high end Hi Fi setups and well worth the investment. The audiophiles isolate everything from front end to speakers
Having said that, I don't have pads under my monitors but I will when I upgrade to proper studio monitors in the new year -------------------- SEE MY GMC CERTIFICATE “Success is not obtained overnight. Explained http://www.audiomisc.co.uk/cones/speak.html http://www.russandrews.com/article-About-T...eakerstands.htm I have a very large desk and like my monitors on it. I looked at stands but for my set up pads were a easy cheap solution. But stands would work well to I assume. |

I wouldn't like or have room to fit monitor stands around my desk. This way my monitors are also very close to me and I can reach out and turn them on and off easily. Thanks guys for info on the pads, when looking at it my monitors do feel to be positioned a little bit low in relation to my head and ears. Hope I'll get one of the pads in the future, I love gadgets by the way -------------------- For GMC support please email support (at) guitarmasterclass.net
