Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hey mate,

We have discussed this one long and hard in your mentoring program and as I mentioned, this one is by far, the best take you have come up with.

There's an almost imperceptible missed note around 0:09 and the whole take could sound more relaxed and natural, but as I said,, this will come with time and playing it more.

Keep rocking!

Cosmin

Hi Petr! Great to see you rocking here. smile.gif

Your take sounds very tight and there is nothing very important to fix. I just feel that you need to practice this one some more time to be able to play it with more strength and aggression. Thrash Metal is an aggressive style that requires that attitude while you play it to get the appropriated powerful tone that depends mostly on your right hand.

In other words, you already can play it while thinking on it, now it's time to feel it.

Keep rocking. wink.gif

Hi Petr, this is a good take.

Your picking technique looks very accurate and very relaxed. As Cosmin mentioned, there are occasional notes during the alternate picking that feel like they're quieter but after looking at your picking, I think it could be caused by the mild distortion that you're using. These digital presets often have high noise gate thresholds which cut the sound off early if you don't pick very hard so it's probably the gear letting you down smile.gif

The chord shifting is very good and the timing is tight. Due to the tone, the E5 chord that spans 4 strings doesn't ring out as cleanly as it could - it sounds quite muffled. Make sure you're also playing the G and B strings with your picking hand, it can be easy to miss them.

For the single note riff at 0:53... try to pick with a bit more aggression. If you hear my version you can hear how I accent certain notes on the A string. I don't use palm muting on the notes on the A string easier, which makes them sound brighter.

Overall, good effort - keep it up smile.gif
