Starting guitar has been one of the best things i think I've done smile.gif

I've been questioning whether i should play cause i didn't see immediate results. When i looked back at everything that i have accomplished, I've definitely seen results. I've been playing for about 3 weeks total time now on and off and I'm already done with Chris's starting lessons and Andrew's, in fact, I'm already playing smoke on the water cleanly. Now I'm working on slow scale playing and some licks.

All i have to say is, thanks to Chris and Andrew so far, and to this program, if you put the time with the use of this information it deff works out...
(i'm sure i'll be saying thanks to more people as time goes by, all wonderful instructors)

ok i'm wondering about strumming when looking at tabs, like with how many strings to strum
for instance when you look at the G5 chord

e| - - - - - |
b| - - - - - |
g| - - - - - |
d| - - - - - |
a| - - - 5 - |
e| - 3 - - - |

you are only strumming those two strings right?

thanks,
Dave

Hey there,

My name is David Demarr, i'm here because of a recent passion i've discovered. It all started with guitar hero mainly, it calms me down, is peaceful, and relieves stress. Obviously guitar hero is nothing like the real thing so i decided to drop that old game and start out on the real deal. I've recently purchased a squire strat black and pearl with all of the accessories. I'm interested in rock/blues/and eventually metal.

I've purchased a membership here and its been working great, today is my first real day practicing. I've already learned every part and how its used, now i'm just having trouble with the musical theory and holding/strumming the notes.

let me know what you think of any recommendations on anything that would help smile.gif

thanks,
Dave
