Has anyone seen the new article released in Game Informer? The new installation of the series looks breathtaking. The combat system, while still keeping the old style is adding a lot of new things. Subtle things like, being able to shoot as Max pushes himself up with one hand after being downed. Human shield, Cover, and more advance additions to bullet time, Like cinematic features where you will do uncanny stunts, sliding down roofs, vaulting over walls and rolling around while still unloading bullets accurately.
Also, the game now takes place in Sao Paulo, 12 years after the fall of Max Payne, And the contrast between the backdrop and the current state of Max is great. He is bulkier and quite older.
Either way, the story might reveal what happened to max in those 12 years, which the developers (Now Rockstar, not Remedy) says is the worst of his life.

And I think, judging from the way article read, Max Payne could either die or live in the game.
