I want to buy a new guitar to do powerful riffs, I love my fender american stratocaster but I want to have something powerful, any type of metal...Don't tell me, you should try before buying, just tell what guitars you like and think suitable, money is no object, I just want lots of opinions to look into.

Thanks

EDIT:
Hearing again good things about Scheters so, any ideas? Should I pick a Schecter to a les paul or something like that?

GOD if money is no object then there are thousands of choices...
Can you be a bit more specific about money to spend, brands, shapes etc?

For powerfull riffs you have to go for humbuckers and a massive mahagony guitar to get that chunky low end, so any Les Paul type would do wonders...other choices are an Explorer or Flying V or basicly every heavy mahagony body guitar

The above is nothing but true.

The ESP LTD EC-1000s are mahogany too. They come with active pickups stock.

If you like thinner necks the EC-1000 will shine over a Les Paul.

They may look similar but they dont feel at all the same.

The Ibanez RG series is a riff machine as well. As are the Jackson Dinky's, Soloists, Kelly's.

I'm willing to bet that more punishing riffs are tracked with a Gibson Les Paul than any other guitar.

A bc rich mockingbird special and replace the neck pickup with a dimebucker and you got the tone you need man

I love the sounds of ESP's.. So I agree with jer: ESP LTD Eclipse 1000 is kickass!

IF money is not an object, I would recommend the best LP you can find. They are great for heavy riffing.

Well, personally if money wasn't an option, I'd have a Vigier.

I would go with a good LP!!! smile.gif

caparison hands down....many many players use em, especially heavy players

I'm just saying money is no object but, let's call a limit of 3000$, enought for a les paul, let's say that...I prefer mostly power metal, but I just want something that can really push the power of distortion, since I own a fender american stratocaster that can make the cleaness of a swan

So it's a Les Paul Custom with the High Gain pickups of your choice!

An ibanez custom shop no? Anywho, whatever´s left of the budget, get a good amp, it´s arguably more important than the guitar.

Already have 4 amps with 265 watt power combined...the only amp I'll buy next, is a mesa boogie for stage performance

I'd get a Washburn USA custom shop and put in Seymour Duncan Blackouts. I know Washburn sounds like a weird choice but they play AMAZING. You could also put EMG's in or maybe some nice high output Dimarzios like an air norton, etc. Here's a link. Or the Nick Catanese model if you're into signature models (I like this one even tough i think signature model's are LAME)

A Gibson Les Paul or an ESP Eclipse/Horizon (without Tremolo) etc. smile.gif

Get a custom built at some nice luthier and decide everything into the smallest detail yourself...
I had mine made in Poland, so I wasn't even close to $3000. Still I didn't cut back on any costs, I got everything jut the way I wanted and it cost me around $1700.
Of course, luthiers in other countries may be much more expensive... I know, I sent price request to many!

I love my new LP, but i'm not sure it is a true metal guitar, defo somethin like an Ibanez Jem would be a solid buy.

Limited edition Black Beauty with uncovered pickups

You should look at Ibanez and Jacksons too...

After getting my new Hellraiser with the active EMG's...Im sold!! smile.gif

Its awesome!

I'd go for a Caparison guitar if you can afford a lot of money. Caparison TAT2 guitars blow me away every time I play one. Much better than Ibanez, Jackson, ESP etc. They are rubbish in comparison.
