GMC Forum _ Introduce Yourself ! _ Hi Ppl

Hi everybody, my name is Jonatan, im 20years old and im from sweden. I first picked up a guitar somwhere around Xmas 04, and was doing the basic chords and stuff on an acoustic guitar, yet i was not planning on getting to serious about it.

I learned a couple of basic chordprogressions and had no intentions to go any further, and then i saw a neighbour of mine playing blues on an electric and was blown away, it had never come to my mind before that guitarplaying had more to it than just struming chords, but this guy showed me a new world.

One year after i had gotten started i got punched in my face outside a local pub by some random villian guy ive never laid eyes on before. The thing was brought to trial and the guy was to pay me a 7000$ fine wich I used for buying myself a Mexican strat, along with a marshall amp, best investment in my life so far.

I decided to get serious about my playing aprox 7 moths ago when it came to my mind that a good set of playing does not come along with ours of pure fun playing, i realised that i had to practice and actually learn stuff....

Things i started learning where red hot songs and random bluessongs that i liked, and thats pretty much where i am at know, i know a couple of red hot songs, some jimi hendrix, and i know some blues, and my playing is somewhere in between blues and funk, and i wanna get started on alternate picking.

I dont really know what i want to practice so far, but i guess ill get strated on some basic alternate picking, and som rock/blues riffs/lick.

I use between 2 and 5 hours a day practicing, and i want to become more inspired and more willing to practice, cause like things are now i find my self just practicing the same things over and over without noticing any improvements at a rate that would please me, so i need help and guiding on building myself a stable, and joyable practice routine.

Where do i go next ? smile.gif thx for letting me sharing my story, one among many i guess. .. .
