GMC Forum _ REC _ Satch Influences

Posted by: Hajduk Jan 4 2014, 12:37 AM

Original lesson: http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Satch-Influences/ by http:///instructor/Laszlo-Boross

Its a bit rough but those stinking legatos and other things took me forever, really like this song and hopefully I did it some justice. I apologies in advance for the background music not being loud enough, just got a complaint sad.gif from neighbor.

Im sorry I do this mess up every time I post a rec take, will fix it, sorry all!

A good effort.. not bad at all. My main advice is to avoid playing in front of the beat.. just hang back a bit more.

Satch is a very relaxed player.. when he's doing those hammer-on style licks he's always locked right in with the drums !

The legato is ok.. just need to work on it more. If you like Satch then legato is something you've got to start tackling anyway at some point so this is a good excuse ! smile.gif

Hi mate! Nice take. The main thing to improve on this one is your timing which is inconsistent. I recommend you to play it over the original lesson and try to emulate Laszlo's groove and accentuation. The other things are of for me. Keep on the hard work.

Hello Tom smile.gif

I am glad to see that you are so active, man! Ben and Gabe have already pointed out the main focus point - timing! I think that if you sort this out, things will sound much better wink.gif Definitely try recording against the original, ok?

Keep rocking!

Very nice take even if there are some spots to fix like 0:28-0:30. I think You need some more time with it to get some fluency smile.gif It's only a matter of practice and focus. I agree that playing with original (main) video from the lesson is a good idea. Make sure You a re not too loud so You don't cover the solo guitar of the teacher.
