Learn Jazz comping and you will never run out of material. Here is some recommended listening material.

Joe Pass
Tuck Andress
Anthony Wilson
Jim Hall
Wes Montgomery
Tal Farlow
Django Reinhardt
Emily Remler

The best version of the Jeff Beck classic featuring the beautiful and talented Talk Wilkenfeld

If you decide to take the path I mentioned, I recommend beginning with this:

Nihilist1 is right, jazz is great for being played by just you and your guitar. I also would recommend some of the simpler chord melody pieces, because you can start learning to add your own improvization into what you are playing if you start with something simple, and I would also recommend some of the pieces that are based upon a twelve bar blues, many can be played with just you and your guitar, if you don't mind playing rythm and lead at the same time.

I'm learning "Interstate Love Song" by Stone Temple Pilots for my next gig. That song sounds great solo on an acoustic. Only a few chords and stretches, but a nice mesh of sound to accompany the vocal lines.
