Hi all and especially Kris,

Just joined and logged in for the first time. Reading Kristofer's blurb about what can be accomplished in 365 days just did it for me.
So for the record I will start counting today and plan to invite you all to my first concert a year from now.
I am a beginner/intermediate player. What on earth does that mean well I think I'm past playing "Hang down your head Tom Dooley" even if I don't have a clue as to what that song is but I can imagine many more like what it seems to be.
I played guitar many many years ago when I was just under twenty but quite after a couple of years, got married and never toughed it again.
Last year in August (35 years later) my son bought me a guitar for my birthday thinking it was like swimming meaning you never forget how to swim once you have learned. Well it wasn't quite the same. I looked at the guitar for several months without touching it and it just looked back at me.
In March of this year I decided it was time to stop looking at it and with the same kind of determination as Kris started to practice hours and hours a day. Until my finger tips could not take it any more, let alone cramps in the arms and neck. I also registered in another guitar school on the web but it did not work well for me. I baought lots of videos and found great theory books on the web also. But curious as I am I kept browsing and looking for Tabs and what not I found this place and the free lessons and the tons of material I saw without even being a member plus reading Kris' thing juts did it for me. SO this was my not so short introduction and now lets get to some serious practicing.

Trust me if I can play a gig in a year, tickets will be free. Just like Paul McCartney did a couple of weeks ago in Quebec city. 350,000 people to a concert and it was free for all. See that's what happens when you don't do things for money....yeah right he still got paid over 4Million $

Wow

I feel like I already won the jackpot by registering on this site. Here I am listening to lessons and getting welcome messages from guitar idols and stars.....does this get any better? Thank you so much for your warm welcome and you bet I will ask for help in due time. My only regret is finding this haven a couple of days before leaving for Spain where I will be without Internet for almost three weeks.

You had no way of knowing it but my vote was in their for you on the GuitarIdol competition.
