They did the same thing to nearly all of the guys doing video game walk through vids. Advertisers decided those vids were just too long, not enough chance in a given viewing session to see enough pre roll adverts, so they demonitized them by steering traffic away from them. Those folks have had to adapt and find alternate funding like patreon. The advertisers want as many chances for an unskippable pre roll add per viewing session as possible. The prevalence of pre roll and non skippable pre roll ads is really lame imho but it's a biz after all. I find myself skipping to vids without pre roll.
