Yesterday, I got a ZOOM G1-X multi effects processor with built in expression pedal. It has a built in tuner and a lot of programmable beats. I wonder if any of you GMC'ers have tried this before.

you get a lot for your money. all the effect, noise gate, drum machine, tuner.

my favorite zoom emulation is the mesa rectifier. I think some teacher here used a g2 and that.

The one feature I don't like is that the expression pedal on this model switches the effect on/off when you press it all the way forward. To me there is nothing good about that, and you tend to turn the effect off when you don't want to if you are not careful.

It does not usb into a computer, I believe the g2 does that, but it costs almost twice as much.

I also have a g9.2tt. It sounds better, I believe because of the 2 tubes in it. Both units use the same chip. If I were to get another multi effect, I would get a zoom g9 again.

But if it broke, and all I had was my g1-x, I would be fine. It gives you a lot, decent quality for practicing, and I believe 90% of it is in your fingers, no point in kidding yourself about that.
