I like the duncans because it's the whole signal and nothing but. Let the amp decide what to do with the signal, that's what an EQ is for.

got my new guitar yesterday and im very happy with the duncans.. i was worried that they would be harder to get pinch harmonics on them but they are about the same as the emgs... I like the way they sound, not quite as much as a metallic sound out of them, but more of a smooth metal sound...

Give it a week and you'll prefer the Duncan's over the EMG's:D

I´ve been using the JB/Jazz combo for a while, i constantly play lots of diferent guitars besides mine and my brother´s cause i live like a minute away on foot from a music store and that combo just screams man. JB on its own is amazing for riffs and also does well on solos. The jazz is alot smoother and warm, and for solos is just awesome.

I´ve had a 59 but changed it for a Jazz. Felt like the 59 had no "life" and was too muffled.

EMG´s are also quite good, i just prefer seymour duncan!

Cheers mate!

Imo you should use the bridge pickup for such riffs. Actually I think that referring to the neck pickup as rhythm pickup is quite confusing. At least I use them in exactly the opposite way, bridge -> riffs, neck -> leads.

Anyway I'm glad you like them. No longer fiddeling with a tremolo feels good doesn't it? wink.gif

Glad you enjoy your new guitar Outlaw, it looks very cool smile.gif Regarding the smoothness of their tone, thats my favorite part of the Duncan sound smile.gif Of course, they have plenty of other styles of pickups for everything else imaginable too.
