Challenges are described here described here. Basically every month Chris choose 3 lessons of different difficulty and "challenge" members to learn them. People that want to participate have to learn the lesson and record their take of it, and after the deadline of submitting takes, there is a pool in which members can vote in each of the three categories on the take they like the most. Winners of each category get "challenge star" title under their avatar. As You can see, I have yet to win one
