I've stumbled across this game in a shop, and I bought it, and I LOVE it smile.gif

A great RPG, awesome story with unbelievable twists, I warmly recommend it to all RPG fans. Anyone played it?

Great Game but I was annoyed that one of the biggest fun factor in an RPG - gathering better equipment - is bad in this game. You basicly wear the same armor and use the same swords from beginig to end...

Bugged me a bit too, but still the game sucked me in pretty much start to finish! There was definitely some wacky stuff going on with the equipment, getting loot that would be inferior to what you were wearing several levels ago, even quest stuff that was plain inadequate.

Also, it took me a while to figure out the gift giving system, but when I did it was pretty cool.

I love Bioware smile.gif

I thoroughly agree.

I usually play mages on RPGs and so I did on Dragon Age. Now I wish I had played it with a warrior/rogue, at least they get some more variaty of weapons/armor.

Graphics & story are superb. I think they could have done a better job with levelling system too. Mayeb I'm used to MMORPGs, where you can grind xp and farm cash & loot awesome stuff. For me gathering and improving weapons and armors to go kill even bigger monsters is what RPGs are about. That's where DragonAge failed big. Even then I put 60 hours on it, doing side quests and taking my time, but quit near the end because the loot dissapointed me so much.

I even tried starting again as a warrior, but doi9ng the same missions over again already knowing what they were about killed the thrill, so I sold the game. Multip`layer would have made an awesome addition to Dragon Age. That and good loot.

Well worth trying it though.

Speaking of RPGs I'm getting Borderlands this evening, a friend recommended it to me and after checking online revies it's a shooting FPS/RPG that mixes diablo, fallout & even Mad Max aspects. eager to try it.

I also started playing Red dead redemption last week, but multiplayer is broken (Rockstar are working on a path to fix it), and the single player got old really fast for my taste. Though it's a great game and will come back to oit as soon as they fix MP.

I would call the kind of game you're describing 'hack n' slash'. It's basically all about the loot and killing bigger and more epic monsters. Dungeon Siege is a pretty good example, definitely try that if you haven't. The thing you have to know when you get a Bioware game though, is that they don't really do hack and slash. They have always had the focus on telling a good story, which is their strength. The process for Bioware hiring a writer, I've heard, is more intense than most major news publications. blink.gif

Borderlands has some RPG aspects, but not too many. Its focus is run and gun gameplay, and they are not kidding when they say there are a lot of guns, there has to be a minimum of 600 billion individual guns. Either way its awesomely fun.

Dragon Age is amazing, I have a character of every race and class. What I love is how not only are there different endings, but different beginnings as well. I always loved that.

Yes, I love hack & slash smile.gif Diablo style games are awesome. Wow was something similar, though on a different scale altogether. The best game I've ever played was an old MMORP called Asheron's Call. I'm sure I'll never experinence something so awesome ever again!

But I also loved Bioware's Never Winter Nights. I finished the game & all expansions and even played online in custom worlds etc., plus the user made download content was excellent. They mixed story, loot & hack and slash perfectly in NWN for my taste.

I just started playing Borderlands and so far I love it, the definition in the back cover fits it perfectly, it's RPS (Rol playing shooter) hahaa, it's really something different from anything I've played before, very addictive.

Finally someone who played AC! smile.gif
That's exactly it, fond memories, I loved it. I really enjoyed the magic system on that game it was hard but so rewarding and worked great. And levelling wasn't a piece of cake like newer games. Building a powerful character needed to be well planned, and took lots of effort at low levels to actually work at high levels. Amazing game.

Yeah, the sense of community was great in AC as well, everyone was always willing to help out be it on a dungeon run or with some items, or just advice. The magic system was definitely fun too. Fizzle, fizzle, fizzle, POW!

Yes it was so awesome. My final char was a battle mage, I loved running the Obsidian Plains killing Diamond Lord golems and baddies, and helping people retrieve their corpses & stuff. My first day playing was awesome with some guys around a camp fire talking about going hunting big stuff, they gave me some magic items and I headed a cave to kill some undead. Best game ever.

Oh, and going back on topic, I saw Dragon Age for 19,95 € at gamespot. For that price it's a steal! smile.gif

Dragon Age is an awesome game! I still think however, the best RPG I have ever played hands down, was "The Witcher"

If you never tried it, just watch the intro video...I suggest you choose 720p and make it full screen - you will be hooked!

Yeah, I love that game! I think I played it through twice, and will probably buy the followup, The Witcher 2. You guys are right, this is one of the best rpg-s of all time character and story wise.

Great to hear that! smile.gif

I've also finished awakening and the darkspawn chronicles, although it was a bit too brutal smile.gif Team up with an Ogre? tongue.gif

I've also finished Return to Ostagar, The Warden's Keep and the stone prisoner smile.gif

I just love that game, however I'm in a lack of time nowadays...

I LOVED! Dragon Age: Orgins. Bioware did a amazing job as always with both story and gameplay.. But again, all Bioware RPG's are amazing, such as say Mass effect 1&2.
