Here's the latest from ARCH ENEMEY with their new singer smile.gif The gal from The AGONIST took over and Angela Gossow is stepping down. It sounds about like every other arch tune honestly but the new singer is a probably a good idea to give the band a shot in the arm. They'd been a bit stagnant. They also added a new guitar player with a Death Metal background but they seem to have him on a short leash so that he doesn't outshine the founding member and lead player (ex carcass) Michael Amott.

I hope they let the new guitar player (who is actually a TON better all around than michael IMHO) just go nuts and maybe write some riffs smile.gif

What do you guys think?

yeah, I was really surprised to read the AG had left, I'd been really looking forward to the new album. Im not too sure about the new track yet though. Alissa has an amazing voice for sure.... maybe I just dont like change mellow.gif
Im getting more into the song after each listen. Angela had an awesome presence that came through in their material, Alissa is.... different but kinda similar cool.gif not as violent looking as Angela!

on the otherhand..... the new Agonist stuff sounds really promising with their new singer. I think they release a track on the 21st, the day after Arch enemy ph34r.gif
the teaser vid sounds great!

pretty rad. although female death metal singers weird me out. you wouldn't expect that voice from that face. thats not to say i don't like female fronted metal bands - i just prefer more natural voices, like SerpentCult for example. as for the music; i thought it was technically proficient, gobs of wang and very tight rhythm. that being said i can go on to say that it lacks musicality - no hooks to catch me - it was rather dull and kinda boring.

I am a huge The Agonist fan, i still listen to their last album regulary nowadays, i has such cool moments!
i am not going to lie sad.gif i was a bit sad with her leaving (but still it's a great opportunity for her, i can understand her decision)
About the new Arch Enemy song, Imo it isn't bad, but it isn't great tongue.gif it's just "standard". It's like you said "It sounds about like every other arch tune "

On other note, i am looking foward to see what Vicky will bring to The Agonist.

It's a proven fact that guitar faces have a bigger impact on tone than wood does.

I was impressed by the news. Based on the fact that it's Angela's decision I think that this has been a great movement both for Alissa and Arch Enemy. I like the new song, it sounds killer. Very enjoyable guitar work.

It may take her a while to come in to her own in this band. Angela's shoes are gonna be tough to fill smile.gif She's doing a fine job singing but she needs to up the "swagger" a bit smile.gif Angela always gave them impression she was about to kick someones ass smile.gif

They just released another track from the new album - 'As the pages burn'

First impressions - I think I like this better than War Eternal.
