Free Kontakt 3.5 player from Native Instrument.
This is a great sampler tongue.gif

The free KONTAKT PLAYER can be easily expanded with 3rd party KONTAKT PLAYER libraries and NI's own growing range of innovative instruments "Powered by KONTAKT":

I am checking Kontakt 4 and the Kontakt Player as well.
It seems you can do pretty much everything with only one software.

Is it a nice tool to create backing tracks ? And Kontakt 4 is not very expensive if you think it comes with 43Gb of sounds, from Drum to Orchestral sounds.

Its really a sample player with an open architecture that enables other manufactorers/developers to produce new sounds/instruments. Sure it is very nice to use for backing tracks, and it has a simple interface that is easy to understand. You dont have the flexibility for each instrument like in dedicated samplers, but imo. it sounds very good and it is definitely price-worthy! Btw. Native Instruments is one of the leaders in this kind of technology.
