GMC Forum _ GEAR & PRODUCTION _ Steve Morse Has A Few Tricks Up His Sleeve

I saw this video of Steve Morse demonstrating some of his gear. From 02.36 in the video you can see how he use his Tone control to shape the sound and create a gentle wah effect. Very cool if you ask me, I have never thought of that :-)
The rest of the video is pretty cool too, awesome playing

Awesome video, love his sounds he gets. I'm seeing him and Joe Satriani in October in Vancouver.

Amazing player. Got to meet him a few times, so humble and really cool guy. Man he has chops for days but melody as well. A total player.

Yes he is, amazing. That's why I like him so much, his playing has so much melody. Not just showing off, but concentrating on the musicality of things

I discovered his majesty when I first became a John Petrucci fan, and I decided to check who influenced him. I noticed that Morse was a big influence on him and I fall in love with his style of playing. As Matt said, he is a very complete guitarist. Thanks for the video.

Great to see other people appreciate Mr. Morse as well. He gets too little attention when people are talking about great guitarists, but he is the man

This is true, maybe it's because he centered his career mostly playing in bands. At the same time, I think that music is always in the first place for him.
By "music" I mean... melody, songs, over technique.

Indeed it is, he is a very melodic player and I enjoy his works a lot!
Just listen to the beauty of these lines - if I close my eyes, I can see myself in the Highlands, having the wind blowing in my hair!
