Original lesson: http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/solo-guitar/david-gilmour-style-lesson/

I've changed the pitch of the tune, I have only 21 frets on the ri62 strat. Same crappy webcam :-)

Hi, parts of this take are really strong but there are some areas which need improvement.

Bending - generally you're accurate with your pitches but there's a couple of moments where they sound a bit shaky, the first one and at 0:45 for example. The bending itself is good but when it comes to applying vibrato you're uncertain of how far to push the string to get the vibrato effect. My advice is to try to make sure that you always return to the original note in between the vibrato motions. That way you will avoid the note being held out of pitch.

Vibrato - not bad but it could be stronger. Many notes are left feeling a bit blunt and dull as there is no expression put into them with vibrato.

Playing like Gilmour is not easy and you manage the lesson well, you can just improve on it smile.gif

Hey mate,

Ben has a point on the articulation elements - bending and vibrato - and I think that this lesson is all about playing them and being as full of expression and feeling as possible.

You need to spend some more time playing this and I think that playing and recording against the original recording could help you with getting a good grasp on the little details in bending and vibrato or the dynamics of the piece - the parts where it's quieter or in which it's a bit louder. You can then listen and hear the differences.

Give it some more time and practice focusing on these aspects. I am sure you can improve the take a lot!

All the best and keep rocking!

Hi mate, good job on this nice lesson which is very useful to work on bending, vibrato and dynamics.

You can play each lick well, with a very precise timing. Now it's time to give your playing that extra value that gives the correct use of bending, vibrato and dynamics. The other instructors already marked the fact that your bending technique has pitch issues and that your vibrato could be more consistent.

I think that you should go for Cosmin's idea and practice this lesson over the original one in order to polish this expression techniques that will take your playing to a new level.

Keep on practicing this one!
