I've seen some amzing vids with the Roland VG-99. The D-BEAM is really like from outer space....
Of course Rolands demo-people are really great and there might as well be some editing involved, but I wonder if someone here experienced it ??? //Staffay -------------------- Guitars: Ibanez AM-200, Ibanez GB-10, Fender Stratocaster Classic Player, Warmouth Custom Built, Suhr Classic Strat, Gibson Les Paul Standard 2003, Ibanez steel-string Amps: Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, Marshall JMP 2103, AER 60 Effects: BOSS DD-20, Danelectro Trans. Sounds really good.
What I like about it, if I understood it right, is that it can simulate different tunings right? Now that's useful. I wonder if my X3 can do that, guess not! -------------------- Guitars:

I looked at one of these mate, almost intimidating they are that good! the only thing that put me off is that it isnt really a stage piece of kit in user interface or construction, but that D beam, how brilliant is that?? Hmmm, I've been checking this out, and there is plenty of possibilities to control this thingy live, Roland has a dedicated controller, it can be accesed via a normal MIDI-controller, they also provide a stand for live-usage.... and the D-BEAM just let you change any parameter by waving Your hand over it.... totally crazy... I saw a demo where the guy from Roland used it as an E-Bow just holding his hand over the console making infinite sustain..... So I think I must disagree here... But how did it sound, Sted ??? //Staffay Sounds really good. What I like about it, if I understood it right, is that it can simulate different tunings right? Now that's useful. I wonder if my X3 can do that, guess not! Yeah, You can have any tuning, its CMOS-technology, also it simulates diffwerent guitars, steel-strings, nylon, sitar as well as a lot of amps, effects etc. There is an outstanding demo where the guy is comparing with a studio rig with some Marshalls at 11 and top-notch mics... It's built on the new (well, almost new) piezo-microphone technology with one mic for each string. You can for example have one sound when strumming lightly and another when strumming hard as well as have different sounds for different strings etc. Also it has the same MIDI-features as Roland GI-20 guitar to MIDI-interface..... What I was interested in was if anybody heard THE SOUND of it ???? Or played it..... //Staffay -------------------- Guitars: Ibanez AM-200, Ibanez GB-10, Fender Stratocaster Classic Player, Warmouth Custom Built, Suhr Classic Strat, Gibson Les Paul Standard 2003, Ibanez steel-string Amps: Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, Marshall JMP 2103, AER 60 Effects: BOSS DD-20, Danelectro Trans. I had VG88 for some time and tested it, and I can say that it is the best digital processor I used, sound was very warm and effects were very dense but very precise and transparent at the same time. Boss GT10 is a toy compared to it.
VG99 is probably one of the best processors available today. This post has been edited by Ivan Milenkovic: Dec 9 2009, 02:21 AM -------------------- - Ivan's Video Chat Lesson Notes HERE

I put a review of the GI-20 for the wiki competition but never posted it :/ should i post it on the forum for it to go on the wiki or does it go on straight away? Just write it directly in the WIKI, thats what a WIKI is good for, I think!!! But You can leave a note in the forum that points to the article. //Staffay -------------------- Guitars: Ibanez AM-200, Ibanez GB-10, Fender Stratocaster Classic Player, Warmouth Custom Built, Suhr Classic Strat, Gibson Les Paul Standard 2003, Ibanez steel-string Amps: Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, Marshall JMP 2103, AER 60 Effects: BOSS DD-20, Danelectro Trans.
