Even liked the oooooooold stuff. They are guilty of the worst fashion/music sins of the 80's to be sure, but hey whaddya gonna do? It was the 80's Yeah, John Sykes was the primary guy all the way through the album that Steve Vai toured on! Some really killer rock licks And some killer solos. A lot of people don't like SOTT because of Vai but I think Vai's playing elevated it from being just another 80's hair rock record. And I think Coverdale is even better than Plant. They even tried to write their own 'Kashmir' with Judgement Day.. which I also find a better song. It's all about personal tastes isn't it ? The 1989 gig was by far the better one - really cool 80ies metal with 2 great guitar players - vandenberg and vai! the show had everything a 80ies rock/metal show ahd to offer these days... 1987 and slip of the tongue are two great albums but 1987 rules!
