GMC Forum _ Introduce Yourself ! _ Hello New To Gmc

Posted by: razman Mar 26 2009, 01:32 AM

Hello all,

My name is Mike I live on an Island in the Torres Strait North of Queensland Australia called Thursday Island. I have been playing guitar for 36 years. I have recently dedicated myself back to the instrument after a 1.5 year hiatus. I originally lived in Chicago IL, in the U.S. and played in bands and wrote a lot of original material. I still write material however I can't sight read or basically read notes at all. However i am not here for that. I am here to increase my knowledge of playing and continue to grow on the instrument. I am also here to improve my right hand technique, yes I want to able to shred. biggrin.gif
I also want to improve my chord knowledge and theory as well. I played a lot of hard rock and metal even experimented with some avant garde Jazzier things. Anyways I am rambling, I am pleased to be here let the learning begin.

Peace Mike

Thanks everyone I am very excited to find this place. I spent some time yesterday just browsing around and there are some incredible players here. I warmed up with Danilo Capezutto's hand synchronization exercises and I noticed a difference immediately. I have always wanted to dedicate myself totally to my instrument and now I have that opportunty, waiting for my residency in Oz so I can work. What better way to spend the time then attaining the skill level I have wanted all of these years?
