Sounds: 8 Yes, you figured it out! Ive been listening to a lot of Misfits the past few days, dont worry, this is my final Misfits review....For Now. Anyway, like on there previous albums, The sound is nice and thick, but i think its a bit beefier, the riffs are more daring, and heavier, which create another extraordinary album!

Guitar: 8 The guitars on this album i believe are some of Misfits best, the riffs are thicker, heavier and better. Still retaining the concept of simplicity is best, the riffs are as catchy as ever. Some songs prove to be some of there heaviest such as "Scarecrow Man", which has one of the coolest riffs ever. Even if you dont like the punk bands that use pretty much Power chords, the riffs make up for that, there are super cool, There is even a Solo on here (not too many of those), like on the tracks "Descending Angel" and "Scarecrow Man" and its good, nice melodic with a dirty punk sound, you wouldnt know it from first glance, but Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein has some good phrasing. The use of feedback on this album is a Doyle signature, which you can hear in the intro riff to Scream, see end of post for link wink.gif

Bass: 8 Jerry Only never dissapoints with his tone and furious beat the hell out of my strings approach and ever relentless riffs. His combination with Brother Doyle prove to add an element to this band where the sound becomes heavier, and more haunting.

Drums: 8 Dr. Chud does some great work on this album, his drumming is tighter, faster, and his sound is awesome. The killer grooves that are ever present on Misfits album are of course, everywhere on this album. Like on every misfits album, the drumming gets you tapping your foot and bangin' your head.

Vocals: 10 With the best vocal melodies of all the misfits albums, Michael Graves' melodic and haunting voice soars across this album with beautiful execution. Graves is a truly underrated musician, and his vocal performance is amazing. His phrasing, Vibrato, choice of Pronunciation, all of it is Phenomenal, especially on slower, Melancholy tracks such as "Descending Angel" and "Fiend Club" send shivers up my spine.

Lyrics: 10 Ok, so the album is called "Famous Monsters", so what do you think most of the songs are about?.....Thats right. Famous Monsters!!!

From "Scream"
A chill runs up your spine
And crawls into your brain
A freezing touch of fear
It's driving me insane
Although you try to fight
Dragged from the silence
Where you hide

'Til you scream
'Til you scream

A chill runs up your spine
And crawls into your brain
A freezing touch of fear
It's driving me insane
Although you try to fight
Dragged from the silence
Where you hide

'Til you scream
'Til you scream
Scream

I can't wait to hear you scream
It's driving me insane
Although you try to fight
Dragged from the silence
Where you hide

'Til you scream
Scream

Ican't wait to hear you
I can't wait to hear you
Scream
I can't wait to hear you
I can't wait to hear you
Scream, scream, scream

From "Scarecrow Man"
How about a little fire, scarecrow?

Hangin' in a field, you'll never know I'm out here
I'm telling you people, best beware
I creep into town, I'm hunting my prey
Back on my post by the crack of day

Lock your doors
Watch your back
It's true

Turn around
How do you do
I'm the scarecrow man
I'm the scarecrow man

People dying every night
Mutilation's a terrible sight
Look 'round the victims really hard
Scarecrow's death straw calling card
And I'm coming
And killing
It's true

Turn around
How do you do
I'm the scarecrow man
I'm the scarecrow man

Scarecrow man
Scarecrow man

I'm the scarecrow man
I'm the scarecrow man

Hangin' in a field, you'll never know I'm out here
I'm telling you people best beware
I creep into town, I'm hunting my prey
Back on my post by the crack of day

I've come to kill you, I will
I'm gonna get you, be still

I'm the scarecrow man
I'm the scarecrow man
I'm the scarecrow man

From "Fiend Club"
We won't pretend that this is the end
We're not losers all of the time
We mosh and we fall, we're one and for all
It's just evil all of the time
All of the time

We are the Fiend Club
We are the Fiend Club
We are the Fiend Club
Not you, not you

You dress so messed up, your hair is too long
But I'm changing it all of the time
We mosh and we fall, we're one and for all
It's just evil all of the time
All of the time
Evil all the time

We are the Fiend Club
We are the Fiend Club
We are the Fiend Club
Not you, not you

Evil all the time

We are the Fiend Club
We are the Fiend Club
We are the Fiend Club
Not you, not you

We are the Fiend Club
We are the Fiend Club
We are the Fiend Club
Not you, not you
Not you, not you

We are the Fiend Club

From "Descending Angel"
Torn from the heavens
They fall from the sky
And walk the streets
Among mortal men
They hide in shadows
Keepers of the night
Mortal life is weak
Can't hold back the demons
The blood pours as rain
And soon you'll be alone

Descending angel
Stand by my side
We'll face the night
Descending angel

Guard the gates of Hell
Just one more night
For in the morning
We'll bring the light
Born or created
In the image of a god
The heavens fall
No saviour has been sent
No one to guide us
Alone we face the night
Mortal life is brief
For the rebel angels
They make their final stand
And soon you'll be alone

Descending angel
Stand by my side
We'll face the night
Descending angel

Guard the gates of Hell
Just one more night
Forever ends tonight

Descending angel
Descending angel

Descending angel
Stand by my side
We'll face the night
Descending angel

Guard the gates of Hell
Just one more night
Forever ends tonight

Descending angel
Little rebel angel
Little rebel angel
Little rebel angel
Descending angel

Overall Impression: 10 One of my all time favorites, covered in Misfits classics, Catchy melodies, awesome heavy riffs, Lyrics that are just too cool to ignore, and a singer with a unique, clean, melodic voice to sing all the lyrics with the perfect amount of every emotion. Like all the previous Misfits reviews i will say this, FUN AS HELL!!
