Hello all, this is my first forum post smile.gif just had a question that hopefully someone can help with! I currently use a Macbook pro, Irig HD and Garageband with the Amplitube plugin. I've been trying to get a decent sound over different backing tracks. I've only been playing for less than an a year, that being said I don't know too much. So if anyone has any ideas, please let me know! Thanks! -Manny smile.gif

Hi mate! Great to find a thread from you. smile.gif

I'm not sure if you refer about guitar tone or about playing licks and melodies that you like over the backings. If you refer to your guitar tone, I would like to know what type of sound you are looking for... something heavy? rocker? bluesy? Pop? I have some experience with Amplitube but I recommend it mostly for clean and vintage sounds, I've never got metal sounds that I liked with the versions that I tried. I prefer Revalver, Guitar Rig and Lepou for it.

So here are my questions...

What type of tone would you like to get?
Do you have any recording to share?

Your off to a fine start by being part of the community here smile.gif We can help!!!! First off, we need to hear where you are at so we can try to help you improve. So!

1.)Record something, anything, and put it up on soundcloud so we can hear your tone.

2.)Link to a youtube clip of a tone that you like or want to emulate.

That will get things started smile.gif

Amplitude is a fine piece of kit and there are some presets in my personal thread that you might try to checkout and wads of presets online for download. Mostly, it's about getting your hands dirty and tweaking up some presets to your liking. But one step at a time smile.gif First let's hear what your working with!

Todd
