The new Jethro Tull song is pretty badass. Could do with a bit more flute though.

LOL! that's kinda cool. I saw an interview with him where he said during the 70's when Zeppelin, Mott the Hoople and all the British rock bands were going down massively in the U.S, Tull were the only guys not taking drugs. Which after seeing them live ( on TV ) is the complete opposite of what I would have guessed!

Also, I wish Opeth had a different title for this song because all I see in my mind when I hear 'will o the wisp' is this -

If you didn't say anything (and it wasn't titled) I probably would have thought it was some later or unreleased Tull song I'd never heard. They kinda 'nail' it - the JT sound.

'Benefit' is still a record I listen to ...

*In the 90s I did a fair amount of recording work with Doane Perry, Tull's drummer from 1984 to 2011. He lived here in L.A. Mostly just TV movie soundtrack stuff.

that's kinda cool actually cool.gif so he would have been there when Tull got a bit more 'metal-ish'. some good stuff in those years.
I still love aqualung. I recently bought the Steven Wilson remaster on vinyl and it sounds amazing! One of those albums you stick on and just stare at the speakers in amazement at what's coming out of them smile.gif

Yes but he said they played all the older 'hits'.
He told me that Ian Anderson loved hearing about (and collecting) how people misheard the famous line from Aqualung, "eyeing little girls with bad intent". I told him that when I was in junior high I thought it was - 'nine little girls with savage tits'. He (Doane Perry) replied, "Christ man, I can't wait to tell Ian, he's gonna fucking LOVE that one".

*I need to check out the Steven Wilson remasters. I didn't realize he'd done so many.

laugh.gif That's all Im gonna hear now! Dunno if its the same in the US but describing tits as 'savage' in Scotland would be a huge compliment smile.gif
Im the same with Sabbath's 'behind the wall of sleep' - theres the lyric 'chills and numbs from head to toe' but all Ive ever heard is 'chill the nuns from head to toe' which, personally I think is a much better line cool.gif

We don't use that adjective too much over here (for boobs) but yes, 'savage' would be a compliment.
"Chill the nuns" is WAY better ... more savage.
